So I was faced with the same choice and ended up going the Perdix.
Mainly because of the size of the screen. I'm just a fan of the larger screens. They just are much easier to read, especially if you've got a leaking or no mask etc.
The two button format is the biggest down-fall for the...
I'll try to make this my final post. I'm normally in support of the A&I forum being rather ruthless in it's tearing apart of any event. But this whole incident just makes me feel sick, and reading here and on FB that accusations and finger-pointing and witch-hunting going on just makes it worse...
This thread is becoming a little toxic with lots of opinions and few facts.
Although there's currently zero evidence, I do wonder if it's worth all dive boats setting up a dedicated charging area in a location designed to limit the impact of any fire. All it takes is one cheap knockoff eBay battery
I'm not entirely sure what my view is on this topic. On one hand, when I lived in Melbourne, I needed certain certs to even get on the boat. But they required full certs, the "adventure dives" as part of PADI AOW didn't qualify, but a full deep / wreck / night etc cert did. So if you were local...
What a truly shocking tragedy. I have nothing to add except that I hope this doesn't turn into a blame game before the actual facts are known.
I also truly wish I hadn't listened to that audio.
Personally i'd remove the battery for a few minutes, and then try to connect to it from the phone only first and see if it works reliably. I wonder if your laptop might be locking up the BT stack.
Here's my understanding from too much time reading and no practical experience.
SW basically set a new standard for reliability with their DiveCAN network based approach for DC to CCR interfacing. The use of this standardised protocol means that when a new DC or module becomes available, it...
Strange. I wonder if your unit has an actual issue.
I did have problems pairing on Win10 Creators Update, but that was a known issue with 1709. My Android phone (OnePlus) and two different laptops work flawlessly with it on 1803.
Have you contacted support?
I'd say it depends on where you store them and for how long. I've seen pictures of second stages with cockroaches and other "stuff" in them when opened for service.
Weird. I've never heard of this ever happening before to anyone. I'm also unable to visualise how the wing twisted in the way are describing that prevented you from dumping air. I guess there's an advantage in threading the cam straps through the backplate.
Your location says Oz - beware that...
Welcome Geoff. I'm sure you should be able to find some regular dive buddies if you have a boat :-) It's a shame Dive-Oz shut down as it used to be a great place to find dive buddies.
You might also want to check out any Mackay diving groups on Facebook. I'm not a member, but here's one I found...
This sad accident reminds me of two recent threads here. One where someone was trying to defend sea cave diving in Greece without training or gear - apparently it was normal practice. And the second where someone was defending deep air diving to 60m as normal practice in Greece.
So I would not...
I like the Simply Scuba reviews, they tend to call out BS add-ons when they exist.
Naturally id suggest a BPW but it looks like a pretty decent back inflate BCD
OK we'll have to disagree. The other manual barely covers OC mode apart from one small section.
The second manual is dedicated to OC mode.
From the manual
Besides, what is air other than EAN 21.
