Little Cayman or Providenciales for diving

Little Cayman. The diving's better (IMO), you're minutes from the dive sites and it's more affordable. They really are completely different destinations...but, as a disclaimer, I've only done Provo in the Turks. I hear Grand Turk is a better dive option and similar to LC...except for that cruise...

Promoting Scuba to the Public--Taking the Challenge

Seriously John, this needs support at every level. I'll spend some time on it next week. And, FWIW, we moved our television advertising from local channels to cable and were able to pick the channels we wanted (think The Travel Channel, NatGeo, Discovery, etc.) and the unscientific evidence is...

    I like guns.

And you are correct. LAR Grizzly Mark I. A mean, mean gun. Not many of them around any more, ammo is kind of a specialty thing and you'd best not try to fire the thing without a wrist brace (and a friend). There may have to be multiple winners! I have plenty of caps; anyone else?

Promoting Scuba to the Public--Taking the Challenge

Hey John, let me just toss some things at you. Would we be able to use this for broadcast on our local cable systems if we just buy the time (and, of course, contribute to the effort) using our added slides/video snips at the front and back? Have you approached any industry people other than...

    Starting/buying a Dive business - help?

I've held out a bit here but wanted to share a quick opinion that's pretty much applicable to all businesses: If you're the owner, it's best to be working on your business, not in your business. Unfortunately, if you're working in your business, your chances of growth are greatly diminished...

The need for scuba equipment repair techs

Yes, there is. I could use a couple right now and you definitely have the mindset to be an excellent tech. It might not make you rich, but there are some side benefits. PM me if you'd like to talk.

    fraying seams after 4 dives

I think your assumption that it's your BC is probably correct...but I don't know if you can correct that. I would most certainly run it back to your dealer and ask them to check with Waterproof about it. That's a very high quality suit and I would expect that they'll be pretty helpful in working...

    Rental truck not vandalized

Chilly: Yep, all plastic. The arms have two little fingers with "bumps" on them that pop into divots on the main frame-- no metal needed. I love them. Get the blue coating. It's great for bright sun on the water.

    UTILA Trip Report (April 20 - 26)

Is Angelo still flying that "vintage" Britten-Norman Islander? Oog, that's about the only airplane in the world I'd probably refuse to fly in, and I've been in a lot of aircraft. I literally can't believe how much gear and humans he packed into that plane one day years ago. It was so tail-heavy...

    PNG - Baggage Concerns

Mike: I say we take six kilos of extra money and just pay the additional bag fees. We're not bribing anyone, we're just paying for pounds, right? That's our story and, as long as we stick with it, we'll believe it. The tickets, on their face, specify 30 kilos each so, as long as the AN folks...

    Atomic Cobalt 2

Hmmmmm. All their pages seem to work for me. If I may, many dives have you put on your Cobalt and how many on what other computers?

    Rental truck not vandalized

I have one word for the rusting sunglasses issue-havers: plastics. i think I learned that from a movie a while back. Seriously, mine are prescription Oakleys and there ain't a drop o' metal on them. Got some old Costas that are the same way. Love 'em both. Hold them under hot water and use...

Youngest Certified Scuba Diver in PADI History

I'm with you guys. My son was certified at 10 years and he's my dive buddy of preference whenever we can get our trips together. He's 18 now, graduating from high school and heading out on his own. I'm gonna miss him on a lot of dives. And it's not just me being proud; I've had a lot of folks...

    I like guns.

I think some of 'em might be armor-piercing but I'll be dagnabbed if I can find any knights riding around my neighborhood so's i could check things out. ---------- Post added May 4th, 2014 at 08:58 PM ---------- No more guesses? I get to keep my cap?:D

    I like guns.

Close, PNB. No Ruger or Taurus, but those two bear very close resemblances. You're right on six of 'em. And yeah, I can go with esoteric...or eclectic.

    I like guns.

A good start but no winner yet. There's a clue "hidden" in the pic of the rounds that "might" help with the difficult one. And there's only one 7.62, really.

    I like guns.

And, just for kicks, let's do the same for some rifle rounds. One of these might be tricky. ;)
