As above, horizontal is the default working position for diving which is probably about 90%+ of the time.
Sure, one might bend over to look under a ledge or come more vertical to take a certain photo, but a diver would then revert back to working position.look at the photo at top of article...
exactly..I have replaced the thin cord on mine with a thicker string aka agir style, this way I can easily grip it and slooowly open it to feather how much to release.
Considering the body position for using either I also prefer just using my left bottom valve, can easily reach it with my hand while taking a shot /checking computer /handling reel etc.. Also there is no chance of blinding a buddy with hand torch which I see happen all the time with people using...
I got rid of my ultima, too bulky.. I still have a softring so I can easily switch seals but its soft and never gets in the way. I just use the seal to seal gloves, easy to put on yourself with some practice
Tip I just learned and had made a crazy difference to hovering is to rub your thumb and index finger every now and then.. Your body likes to keep moving and under water many feel the urge to move their fins. Using this little trick has helped me keep practically still.. I can link a short video...
I just used a torx that was a tiny bit larger, hammered it in and then screwed out, one screw came out fine, the other delayed and had to use plus to get the stub out
Why not pickup a second hand shearwater, like petrel or older? These are quite reasonably priced.. Seriously, compromise on costs at that level is quite.. Well, your call
On mine no allen key worked as the edges were not sharp enough, I ended up drilling out the screws and replacing with flathead ones, greasing up the switch and now it works better than before :)
The dry suit is there to keep you dry and warm, not to control buoyancy with. That's what the bcd/wing is for. The dry suit should only hold enough air to avoid squeeze and give loft to your insulation. All you buoyancy needs should be covered by the bcd. This minimises workload and reduces the...
well, if I was in your position there are two things I would do:
a) bring a big, awkward console and hose, small wrench and just unscrew and attach from first stage once I have my gear..maybe just mention it first time
b) bring a pdc, compass or my petrel..or get a perdix AI that will save you...
I think you missed the point.. he made two videos about gear, one driving around in a flashy silver lambo.. and as he states in the video, it's just as a joke, people keep asking what is the best reg, best xxx etc.. and he says he doesnt want to say a or b or c as there are many that are good...
just came back from diving pemuteran, tulamben and nusa penida..all great. Wish we could have dived pemuteran more, especially the marine park more. beautiful area
