    Christmas in Bonaire !

Countess: you are definitely in for a very pleasant surprise! And really, there is no need to really "dress up" before going out. Clean shorts, sandals, and blouse will do just fine.

Anyone dive East side of Bonaire with Larry's?

I've also dove the east side on several occasions (during day & at night) from shore at Cai. It is certainly a different type of experience. Having said that, it will never replace west side diving for me.

Using a compass for shore diving in Bonaire

isaias..I've been diving Bonaire's reefs for at least 20 years and must confess that I ALWAYS take a compass reading right before descent. We normally paddle out to the drop off on the surface & then use the compass reading to get right back to our entry point underwater. Now the question to...

Chicagofish..The very best way to find buddies is to be sociable on the dive boat trips! Just bring a smile & a sense of adventure and you'll have no problems. Enjoy your trip!

Bonaire boat diving necessary? advised ?

Yea Rex, that would be me! :D But, then again, imagine how exhilarating it feels to find a frogfish completely on your own. Last trip I did find one while snorkeling off of Bellevue, but I really don't credit it as "a find" since he was previously swimming on the bottom before he stopped and...

New to board. Info about Bonaire Dive operators? Tropical Divers?

isaias: My sage advice, since you are a relative newbie is to start out by doing boat dives. That way you do have an experienced guide with you at all times. Yes, you can do shore dives later on but I would caution you to have an experienced diver with you. You can always do shore diving as...

MS diver..We'll be there that week. Feel free to drop by and say hello when you're diving some of the southern sites. Buddy Dive & Capt Don's as you know are right next to each other. Personally I prefer the food at Capt Don's. There thin crust pizza is pretty good and the view is fab! I'm sure...

    It's just not the same.

PUHLEESE...Do we really need his rantings & ruinations? Sort of reminded me of the old 45's when the needle was stuck in a groove. Go enjoy Bonaire & all she has to offer. It's not for nothing that the license plates say "divers paradise". We've been going back & forth now for some 25 years and...

Top 5 Best Dive Sites in Bonaire?

In actuality, there really is no "top five". As with restaurants, food, music, we all have our favorites, myself included. But in reality, your top five are for you to discover. That's the fun part. And don't shy away from diving one site multiple times. That's how you can really learn it.

    bonaire this feb. -advice please

Jon..You're in for a great time. As someone once said, Bonaire is the world's largest liveaboard. Pick a spot along the leeside and enjoy a great dive. There are valid reasons why so many folks continue to return time after time after time to the island.
