Woody.. I think you'll find that most restaurants on Bonaire do not accept AMEX. Of course there are exceptions. From what I hear from the merchants the fees are too high & it takes a long time for them to get paid.

Personally, I think the diving on Bonaire tends to be a bit better during the summer months. Many times the ocean can be like a sheet of glass. Conversely, it's sure nice being down there in Jan & Feb when it's 82 degrees as opposed to a blizzard in the northeast! Really anytime is great diving...

Oh I guess "beauty" is in the eye of the beholder..Try doing a night dive or pre dawn dive when they are really out on the reef. You'll see them for the alien destructive invaders they really are. Fortunately for us, they are "yummy" to eat.

We've always used Buddy Dive on our many trips to the island and have never had any problems.

Lwang..There is absolutely no need to use an artificial marker on Bonaire's reefs. Leave the sausage & weights attached to it at home. You're much better off relying on your UW acumen, use your gauges, compass, watch and your eyes to discern differences in the UW topography.
