Well, from my viewpoint, "the locals" are as much a victim of crime as "the tourists". In all honesty this statement is completely false.

My recommendation is pick a dive shop close to where your staying. If in the Belnem area, I believe Buddy Dive @ Belmar charges $99 for nitrox certification. Not much to it, they give you some books to read and then you take a test. Did it several years ago with Chrissie over there.

The Amalfi Coast is a breathtakingly beautiful area of Italy. The scenery and food is wonderful. I am a diver but did not do any diving there so can't elaborate on that.

Sad is the only word that comes to mind in reading this. For what it's worth, I understand that BCs and wetsuits are to be be left in public dive lockers. But we never leave regulators and computers in them.
