Looking at you tech divers.... Looking at you...

The dorkdiver subforum died when it was discovered no one on an internet forum wasn't one. Backdoors don't have numbers so they're harder to find. Doesn't mean there aren't any.

Exceeded NDL by a bit, but computer cleared me. What should I do?

In boat diving there is truly little chance of avoiding exercise. In the smallest seas, your skeletal muscles get a workout just stabilzing you. In moderate seas you will certainly get a workout.

Has anyone gone on a volunteer/eco dive trip?

You can go kill lionfish almost anywhere warm in the world outside their native range and do some good.

Looking at you tech divers.... Looking at you...

Politics aside, we will likely see more incidents like this as they have a profound impact on economies without a lot of material or manpower being exposed.

    Best Mask Defog ?

A capful of baby shampoo in an old container full of distilled water. For new masks , straight baby shampoo for the first few dives and only rinse about 90% out.

    18 Fathom Wreck

Not that I'm aware of. There were some treasure hunters blowing sand at a few other wrecks but seemed to have left it alone. There's two smaller wrecks in the area as well. One is just hullplates and the other is pipes of some sort resting on something.

    18 Fathom Wreck

How far south? I know of a wreck similar to your description 35 miles southwest in 120.

    18 Fathom Wreck

A guy who tended the suction hose worked for me after that. He said they told him it was low grade ore and it was being shipped somewhere to refine. Wreck still gets covered in sand tigers occasionally in fall and winter. I found teeth every time I dove it.

    18 Fathom Wreck

Being dove since the 70s,sorry. Dove regularly by commercial spearfishermen since the early 80s. The ore was partially salvaged a few years ago.

It says right on my tanks - DO NOT OVERPRESSURIZE

Perhaps we should post speed limits on motorways soon. I'm sure that will reign in dangerous driving. Maybe even make driving intoxicated a crime. We can recommend against unprotected sex, particularly on dive meet ups while were at it. People are gonna people and even the laws of...

Info History of PADI's Enriched Air Nitrox course

I remember taking tanks already filled for pp blending into PADI shops in the 80s without their knowledge in some cases and with wink from one.

A different take on Master Scuba Diver

About as accurate a moniker as an 8 yr old with a black belt. Strictly an ego feeding proposition. Not that the classes don't have value, the title deserves any derision it gets.

Suggestion Reconsider and remove the "disagree (red thumb down)" flag

I was unaware until now of the above reaction, I will happily use it in my most cantankerous grumpy old man mode.

Exceeded NDL by a bit, but computer cleared me. What should I do?

Had full on vertigo and nausea after a normal ascent within NDL. Couldn't open my eyes without vomiting for 3 days. Returned to diving after a couple months and still had occasional vertigo for years. Did several thousand dives after that. As far as NDL, I don't consider bumping it...

Trip Report Sharks and Shipwrecks in the Graveyard of the Atlantic

Weather is all relative. Chop to some is seas to others. I've got probably 5000 dives in the neighborhood and we rarely had to cancel day of. It was obvious on the forcast a week out it wasn't going to be doable. That being said I've dove up there in big seas and it was nice to have every...

    JuLionfish Derby

Good news! Would love to see more involvement from the recreational sector in removing these guys. Of course that would involve charters and private boats not hitting the same spots day in and out. I've had 70 fish commercial dives and it was hard not to get at least a dozen per dive on...

    Question Compression sleeve while diving?

I can't see how most wetsuits couldn't be seen as compression suits.
