Selling a TUSA RS130 (R100 1st stage and S30 2nd stage) with Mares Viper Brigade Octo and Aeris SPG. This regulator set has 75ish dives on it. It has not been used or serviced in quite awhile so whoever buys this reg should get it serviced. However, I did jump in the pool with it recently and...

Gradient Factors - What is Everyone Using?

Sorry to hear you had DCS, hopefully you're doing better now. I'm curious, after the incidence of DCS, what GF settings do you currently run? Looking back in the thread, I don't think you said (unless I missed it).

Wanted Want to Buy Scubapro S600 or G250V Second Stage

Hey all, looking to buy a Scubapro S600 or G250V second stage if anyone is interested in selling one. Trying to complete a single tank setup that I picked up recently and I want to have the same or similar backup reg as the primary. - Ryan

Cave gear and light recommendations needed

Subcooled, this is the light the OP referred to in his post: Cave Adventurers - 15-32 variable led - Marianna, Florida USA - Never Undersold! It's currently $1500+ and he also talked about doing full cave next year, hence my big cave dive comment. Wasn't really talking about the size of the...

Obtaining a NACD Replacement Card or Other Options

Update, Jeff actually was able to find my Intro to Cave documentation (initially thought he only found my Cavern), so I went ahead and applied for a replacement card on the NACD website. That said, as I've been out of cave diving for the last seven years or so, I might look around and see if...

    Staying Still?

There are certainly things you can work on without gear such as different fin kicks, etc. However, to truly get your trim and buoyancy dialed in to where you can be more still, you do need your full kit as the difference in weight and buoyancy can affect things. I'll give you an example. I love...

Obtaining a NACD Replacement Card or Other Options

I remember that rattlesnake. At the time I didn't know that diamond back rattlesnakes could swim. Probably best that we tried a different dive site!

    Staying Still?

In your second video/pool session it looks like you're not wearing the tank strapped to you. A tank and BCD changes the weight and buoyancy over your lungs a bunch. Not sure that dialing in your trim without one is going to help you much.

Obtaining a NACD Replacement Card or Other Options

My original instructor was Jeff Bauer and unfortunately I don't think he's teaching any cave diving anymore. By the way, if you're the same Sandy Robinson I'm thinking of, I think we took cavern together back in the day. I think your daughter might have joined as well. - Ryan Fahey

Obtaining a NACD Replacement Card or Other Options

I've recently moved back down to FL after being away for 7ish yrs and am slowly getting back into cavern/cave diving. Awhile back I accidentally washed my Intro to Cave with Doubles card through NACD which ruined the card and made it unreadable. This is when they were issuing this card as a...

How do I stop the current sweeping my past my DM?

In addition to all the other comments, make sure you're not kicking, many new divers are unaware sometimes that they are indeed kicking when they're not meaning to (e.g., some have difficulty descending because they're kicking up). Also some people, if their trim is not dialed in, tend to kick...

    MSDT Prep Questions

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective), sometimes people don't have issues with a PFO until they are really pushing up against the limits such as with big decompression dives or many many dives over a relatively short period of time where your nitrogen loading is pretty high

    MSDT Prep Questions

If they find you do have one, I believe there is a surgery that can be done to close it. A buddy of mine had his closed awhile back.

    MSDT Prep Questions

If this continues to happen, you should talk to your doctor about getting checked out for a PFO (perhaps talk to her now). A PFO is a hole between the arterial and venous sides of the heart, estimated to occur in 1/4 of the population. Everyone has it at birth and for most people it closes on...

Gradient Factors - What is Everyone Using?

I'm interested in what gradient factor settings everyone is running and why? Does the type of dive you're doing affect your settings (e.g., cold vs. warm water, technical vs. recreational, clear vs. silty, other)? I've heard everyone is all over the map with regard to the settings they are using...

Cave gear and light recommendations needed

Why not both? A quality can light is not really equivalent to a nice reel and spool in terms of cost and you likely need both if you're going to do big cave dives. Take the below light monkey 400 ft reel for instance. It's $128 vs. $1400+ for a really good can light. Light Monkey Delrin Side...

    Regulators for doubles

I guess an edit to my question. What qualities make a good sidemount regulator? Is it just a swivel turret for nice hose routing? A convertible second stage to be left handed? Other?
