Thanks, all, for the great info. Unfortunately, we're only available for diving on Sunday so we'll have to pass on the DFaC event. Cheeers to all. Neil

    Welland scuba park viz?

Where is the best place for easy access to the water? We're thinking of heading there on the 30th but have no idea as to conditions, etc. Neil

    Equipment and Aging Divers

Interestingly enough, at 64 I am still an active diver who recently decided it was time to start using a dive computer. I've been diving since 1962 so it was about time, i guess. To make a long story short, I went to my LDS to spend my retirement gift "wisely". I had decided on the Sherwood...

    Muldrew Lake anybody?

Steve - I am not at all surprised by your findings. Perhaps it was that particular location, but I think the whole lake will be that way. Every dive has something positive as a result. These seem to have satisfied your curiousity! Cheers, Neil

    50+ year old divers

I don't know how I missed this thread before, but here goes: I'm 63 and I've been diving since 1962. PADI DM for several decades and still dive on a regular basis. I try to get at least 1 Carib. trip each year - favourites - Coz, Cayman Brac, and Curacao. Regular dives are generally lakes...

    Muldrew Lake anybody?

Muldrew Lake: I haven't heard that name in decades! Yes, we dove there once many years ago. We dove from shore, it was shallow, tea coloured, and we did find some "stuff" on the bottom. I'll have to go way back into my old logs to give you some specifics, but it was interesting, as I...

    Unsolicited endorsement for Sunset Divers

Trip Report: Let's start with - I can't wait to go back - again! Sunset Waters was excellent. Even though it could use a little "freshening" of some of the fixtures, it was very nice and the food was enjoyable. Staff are VERY helpful and athe dive op staff were fabulous. Even though there...

    Q for Toronto divers/internet users

Funny how that happens....it's almost as if "they know". As I was responding to you yesterday, everything started to slow down. Ya think? Neil

    Q for Toronto divers/internet users

It may very well be Rogers. From time to time, I seem to get frozen out - at home. At work it is fine. I don't know about the "downtown" factor but I suspect Rogers is the issue just the same. It may also depend on your system set up. Call Rogers (good luck!:D) and let us know what you find...

    Unsolicited endorsement for Sunset Divers

I am in complete agreement with the views on Sunset Divers. They are an excellent operation, safe, friendly and VERY accomodating. We were there in Feb. '06 and had a similar dolphin experience. What an incredible way to spend a surface interval! I really enjoyed Sunset Waters...

Its official...going to Brac Reef 5/12-19

Spent a fantastic week at the Brac - end of Feb. Everything was great - food, staff, room, etc. The dive op is excellent and we had absolutely nothing but good times! My only issue is the total travel time it takes me to get there - but if you are patient, bring a good book and a good...

    Flights to Curacao from Canada?

Fab, Going through MIA - bring good walking shoes. flying in from TO isn't too bad, but the return trip home is a bear. You have to clear US Customs, get your bags and re-check them, do more walking, endure huge crowds of people, etc. For non-US citizens it is much worse than for Americans...

    Cayman Brac? Need General Info.

divingjd: we're going down to Brac Reef on Wednesday (2/21) for a week. First time and REALLY looking forward to it! I'm a bit confused about the luggage amount; Cayman Airways says that it is 50# + 15# carry on. Do they try to play silly bugger with the customers? Anyway - we'll pack...

    Cayman Brac Shore Diving

Thanks, -hh, for that thorough and obviously knowledgeable reply. It looks like we may just settle for lots of boat diving and do some snorkelling. :blinking: Neil

    Cayman Brac Shore Diving

Thanks for the replies. If we go to the Brac, obviously it'll be at Brac Reef Resort. and they don't mention anything about shore diving in their advertizing. The shore dive map was excellent - thanks. Neil
