    Snorkels are snag magnets. As suggested earlier, fill your BCD, flip on your back and swim. No dead air to deal with.

    2 funny. This is the opposite of reality. Move the snorkel as far back as you can. Freediving spearos have it almost on the back of their head so they can look down while hunting.

    Ethan made his first dive after certification in Catfish Hole at Manatee Springs State Park. We had fun chasing them baby cats all over the place. He had to dig through some duckweed, first! It took a grandnephew in need of certification to drag me back from retirement. He was only 3-4...
