    Dry suit woes

They're called "fin grippers", part number RP57. Here's a link. http://www.tridentdive.com/page101.htm Hope any of the above is of some help, 'cause dry is the ONLY way to go in our chilly climes.

    Hello from Malta

Ah, cnappa, there are indeed some of us who know very well where Malta is and are even pricing the cost of a dive trip there. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

    Drysuit grumbles/question

Barb, You might PM Divegal. She's in your neighborhood and might be able to direct you to an LDS who can help. I'm pretty sure she's a drysuiter, so she could, at least, tell you how she solved the problem.

    Dry suit woes

Like everyone else has said, keep at it. We found our local quarry a great place to practice, as the water conditions (except viz) were so predictably flat calm. If you can do a dozen or so practice dives in the quarry you mentioned, I'm sure it'll help your confidence level a lot. Like UP...

    Hi from HI

Oh, you poor soul! 3 years trapped in Hawaii. My heart just bleeds for you. :D Have a good time. I enjoyed diving Hawaii. 3 years should be just about enough time to get a glimpse of it all, eh? Oh, by the way, welcome to the board from the chilly waters of Michigan.

    Sarnia this weekend anyone??

Erich, It doesn't close. They're open all year. We'll probably not go back till next month. The crowds REALLY had the place stirred up. There were spots with some viz, but you swam through soup to find them. But, yeah, I'll let you know when we're headed there next. Meanwhile, I'm...

    Sarnia this weekend anyone??

We bailed too. Called the P.H. water plant and they said turbidity was 1.3. I long ago learned if it ain't under 1.0, I don't go. So we went to Gilboa instead. What with all the cert classes, we might as well have done the river!! Oh, well. Maybe this weekend.

My carry-on has my mask, reg, computer, camera, strobe, swimsuit, and usually a t-shirt (acts as padding).

    Sarnia this weekend anyone??

My wife and I (and maybe a friend, if he can escape) will probably be in Sarnia this weekend. Look for a big blue Ford 150 with a matching big blue cap at the Monarch entry.

    South western ontario dive sites??

Old CSL dock in Point Edward is a good entry level site (they do open waters there). Also a good intro to the St. Clair river.

    Dive operators in Maui

Do a search on the board. There've been other threads re: Maui. I'm an Ed Robinson fan. If I get back to Maui, I'll use them again.

Deep Stops And Modern Deco Theory Wkshp

Sounds like a good workshop. So sorry you folks never make it up to our chillier climes.

    No more drysuit rentals!!!

You'll LOVE it. In our northern climes (and waters) dry is the ONLY way to go. ...This from a guy who resisted buying one for 6 years. (Slow learner)

    And yet another diving adventure....

Erich, You can dive the CSL docks with no problem. Stay within the pilings and there's no real current. Venture too far out from them, though, and it can get fast quickly. The tug, the Monarch, does indeed have a line to it. However, the current can vary dramatically. I've been on the...
