    Chosen Frozen

I just use a standard o'neill coldwater hood. With that & my mask, there's so little skin exposed, the cold doesn't really become an issue. Did our annual u/w turkey hunt in the local lake. 38F water. Cold was no problem...until we all got out of the water...

    New to it all

You didn't really say what your objection was. My wife had trouble initially, too. She felt like she couldn't get enough air. So we got her a bigger bore snorkel and that solved the problem. So, in case that's YOUR problem...

Empress of Ireland Artifacts being sold

Seemed like 10K was a reasonable price. He had all that fun diving the Empress for years recovering all that stuff. Who knows how much he made from his museum. Be interesting to see how it turns out. I think the stuff should stay in Canada, though.

Empress of Ireland Artifacts being sold

Isn't this the guy (don't remember his name) who set up a museum of the pieces he recovered from the "Empress"? Seems he wanted the province to buy the museum, and when they wouldn't, threatened to sell the stuff on the open market.

    "problem with drysuit attached boot."

Jeez, I should have told you they're kind of a "Y"-shaped stirrup that stretches from the back of the heel to the top and bottom of the foot, which "snugs up" the boot quite a bit. I use them too, though my boot fits fine, just as an extra protection against air in the boot.

    "problem with drysuit attached boot."

Miked, If you haven't already, you might try something Trident makes called "fin grippers", part number RP57. Here's a link. http://www.tridentdive.com/page101.htm They've worked pretty well for my wife, who has a narrow foot. Cost $6/$7.

anyone go to the annual pumpkin carving contest in Gilboa?

Too much to do this weekend. Wound up doing a short one in Union Lake instead. 10 viz, but few fisherman, boaters, or jet skis. 49F.

Yeah. $40 is the cost of a good meal. The chapbook can help you avoid spending $40 for a bad meal.

    Undercurrent Magazine questions

I agree with Daylight. I've subscribed for years and have always been happy with it. I think the chapbook alone is worth the price. Besides where else will I find the collected writings of our own Doc Vikingo.

On a board, don't take up more than your share of the boat, nor leave your gear scattered about.
