    Great Diving in Kingston, Ontario!

Yes, indeed. Kingston is great. And, of course, the Kingston Brewing Co. is excellent. Makes me wish I lived closer to it.

    Monarch cable

If you're familiar with the Port Huron side, and the process of diving in the St. Clair, you'll like the Canadian side. It has some excellent drift dives also. You should try and hook up with someone over there who can tip you off to the methods/procedures (for lack of a better term). But...

Anyone using the Viking X-Treme drysuit?

Here's another X-Treme user. Had mine for over a year. I like it a lot. There've been no problems whatsoever. A commercial diver in Alpena recommended it to me. He said he's done things to his "you shouldn't do to a drysuit" and says it's just great.

Do you dive with a snorkel?

Have a fold-up that I periodically stick in the bc pocket. Other than that, no, I don't use one.

    why go below 30'???

Additionally, the better preserved wrecks are below 30'. But, as so many others before me have said, if you don't want to go deeper, don't.

Refunds for Students who Can't pass O/W?

Like any college/trade school/etc the student is paying for the opportunity to learn. If said student fails to make maximum use of the opportunity, oh well. It's why we had to invent letters other than "A". :D Physical inability should have been uncovered in a pre-class physical exam...

    Monarch cable

For those St. River fans who don't already know, the cable from the Monarch to shore is buried under at least 3 feet of sand. It disappears into the sand about 30 (+/-) feet from the Monarch. We were unable to find the connection point at the Monarch. It's about impossible (with only 4 people...

    Diving with women

    Hi from Scotland!!

Welcome. I dove Scapa last year. Wonderful diving. And Scotland is a beautiful country. ...'Course being a member of clan Campbell, I would say that. :D

    Hello from Alpena, Michigan

Wondered when someone from Alpena would show up. You live next to one of the most fun places to dive I know. We were up there over Memorial Day. Dove with Randy Johnson. Good man to get to know, after you're certified. He knows all the wrecks and has quick boats to get you to them now...

    Diving in Munising Michigan

I just dove Munising last weekend. Temps on the Smith-Moore and the Selvick were around 40F. I agree with Bob3. He's GOT to have a hood, at least. The hooded vest would certainly add an extra measure of warmth to his torso. Fun diving, though, and Pete is the best. Tell him Rick &...

    Sanilac Shores Preserve

Chris Kohl & Steve Harrington both have books that cover the preserve pretty well. You might find them at Huron Scuba down your way. Regina is an interesting wreck. The Sport is just a fun dive. Northstar is pretty broken up. Mary Alice B is like the Sport, but deeper. Sorry, I have no...

    4m deeper in cold water?

I agree. I've known folks that used a 3mm in a heated pool and a guy that dove to 80 feet in Lake Superior in a polartec. To hell with the rule of thumb. Listen to your body. If it tells you it's cold, but the water is 80F, put on thermal protection till your body says it's warm.

    Coco View Resort - Roatan

I've been 11 times. Most recently last Feb. 2 comments on my experience. 1. I've never had the cramping/diarrhea incidents reported to you. 2. Roatan is a place for little critters. Go fast and you miss what it offers. Go slow and there's lots and lots of stuff to see. One of the old...

Oceanic Pro Plus Strap to Arm

I run the hose under my arm, across my chest. With a shortened lanyard & a SS clip clipped to a ring on my bc all I have to do is look down for a reading. Like DJ69, it's close to my body, doesn't get tangled and is still easy to read.

    In Support of UK Diving

I've been in all the Great Lakes and find them more cold and dark than Scapa Flow. The diving in the Flow was outstanding. Great wrecks, good people, amazing vistas. No one with the skills should pass a chance to dive there. ...matter of fact, my wife and I are headed back next year.
