    Wrecking Crew T-shirts

Please put me down for two XL t-shirts. (Is it heresy to say the diving in Honduras last week was great fun?)

trip report, Honduras, dive, raft, spanish school

I went to La Ceiba for class with Central American Spanish Schools last August. I second comments about the school. Rafael was most helpful and all the teachers I met really knew the material and how to present it. We're looking to go back again this year.

    Has Any-One Dived Scapa Flow?

I was there year before last. Loved it. My wife and I are planning to go back, too. Compared to US Great Lakes wrecks, know that they're all cargo type ships. No warships. They're better preserved (cold, fresh water and no shipworms, etc) We've lots that are older then WWI. We've got a...

Great Lakes Wrecking Crew logo poll

Pretty well says it all. Works for me.

viking drysuits look pretty nice.... are they?

I can second all Tom's comments. I've not tried dui's rock boots, but I prefer Viking's to the old style dui. Sturdier, I don't feel every pebble walking to the water, and they insulate better. I've had mine 3 years and am quite happy with it.

    Alpena charters

Yeah, I've been out with Capt. Randy a number of times. I've always had good luck with him. Leaves on time, gets you to the site quickly, takes good care of you on the way. I'd recommend him. If you've never been there, try the "Grecian", "E.B. ALLEN". For a long dive on/in a fun ship, the...

    Anyone else ready for summer?

Summer? Heck, I'd settle for 35F, so we could do some comfortable ice diving. This less-than-20F stuff just doesn't get it.

    Lets hear your plans!

We're off to Roatan 2/28 (can't wait). A few of us are discussing a trip to Les Escoumins this summer. Otherwise, it's the Straits, Whitefish, Union Lake, Orchard Lake, Maceday, and, of course, the quarries. Looks like some ice diving is a GOOD possibility...

    Attention, Great Lakes Divers

I know this is way late, but count me in, too. And I already voted for Great Lakes Wrecking Crew.

    Drysuit Maddness

Like Tom, my wife and I each have a Viking X-Treme and really like them. Price for each of ours (suit, underwear, drygloves) was under the 1100 you stated as a price cap. I prefer it to neoprene because I don't have to carry as much weight. FWIW.

    Travelling + Safety in Honduras

I agree with all of the above and would offer one more bit of experience. I've spent time in La Ceiba and did not have any trouble. I would stay on the main streets at night, and cabs are plentiful @ 10-12 lempiras per ride.

    Happy Birthday BerRabbit....

May you have nothing but success with the Viking!!

Tantalized, tortured by "flamingo pink" fins...STOP ME!

My wife has an old pair of pink jets. Lots of folks joke about them, but always follow up with "at least I know who YOU are underwater."

the menopause ( change of life)

My wife's been on HRT for 8 years now. She's been diving the whole time (65 dives per yr avg). That diving ranged from wrecks in Scapa to Panama to Lake Superior to ice diving. She has had no adverse effects whatsoever. Her M.D. knows she's diving and gave her no cautions at all. FWIW...

    The Best UK Wreck Dive.

I come from the Great Lakes (u.s.) area where we have LOTS of wrecks. Based on that experience, I think Scapa Flow wrecks are outstanding.

You'll only forget them once, eh?

    A big HELLO! from Scotland!!

Bryso, Welcome to the board. Once you've got a bit of experience, you MUST go to Scapa Flow. You live near some of the best recreational wreck diving I've seen. (And I live near the Great Lakes with hundreds of wrecks.) And, of course, our group loved Scotland.

    Roatan Restaurants

I've been to both Gio's and Romeo's (more than once) and enjoyed the food at each of them.

FYI: Anatomy of a Shark Bite

Seemed kind of like National Enquirer goes high-tech. Very disappointing.
