    Faber Valve service kits?

Yes, that makes sense for sure. I am not familiar with XS valves but I know Thermo valves very well, and sure, very good quality indeed, the only major drawback for us in the metric world is all our tanks are Metric 25 x 2 thread and of course Thermo is mostly geared for Imperial thread...

    Faber Valve service kits?

Quite correct. Faber has an agreement with Sanosub for valves - ALL faber tanks supplied with valves ex Italy will be fitted with SanoSub valves. As suggested here, I do believe these valves are sold in the USA under the Blue Steel brand, it shouldnt be an issue getting spares.

Who made "Precision" brand regulators ?

Hmm, yes, I am not familiar with the name either, it would be interesting to see a pic of the 1st and 2nd stages if its possible.?Its definately a generic reg and could have been marketed elsewhere in the world under another name.

I was scratching through an old dive box....

:D - Ha,Ha, Yeah, I also found 2 x Old Dacor Micro Brain computers in the box, they had that sliding cover to protect the lens, gee, I dunno, maybe from the late 80's - strange thing is they are both still working. :D

I was scratching through an old dive box....

Yes, I never had a fee flow issue and obviously there is no purge issue, but I too cant see there can be a 20% saving in air. It also takes a lot of getting used to as you basically have to bite down on the mouthpiece, which move's the internal lever and opens the seat to allow air to flow...

I was scratching through an old dive box....

Wow, I didnt know they were still available. Is that to the mass market or is it very niche.? I did a search but I couldnt find much, maybe my search skills are a bit tatty, I'll keep trying.:D

I was scratching through an old dive box....

.....last night and I came across this "White Elephant" of a demand valve. :D Anybody remember them.? Anybody dived one.? I remember I used it a few times just to see how it worked,....... it didnt really, but thats another thread. I picked it up one year (many years ago) at Dema. I...

    DEMA 2010 Price increase

Oh sure, like I said earlier, anything that gets folk interested in scuba during this difficult economic time is good with me. I know there was a poll about this some time ago and at the time, I think, there was a trend against it by exhibitors and trade visitors alike, but, I think scuba in...

    DEMA 2010 Price increase

Yeah, as an international trade customer I have to pre-approve every year, even though I have attended dema for approx 20 years now on the trot. My particulars have not changed since the first day we registered, but for some reason I still have to go through the pre-approval process every...

    DEMA 2010 Price increase

Yeah, I dont know what I was thinking, I only saw now "Dive Professionals" I sort of wrongly read it as "The General Public". :dork2: Yes, I know instructors, DM's etc have always (well recent always :) ) been able to get in, but even though I am a trade customer, I honestly dont have an...

    DEMA 2010 Price increase

Hmm, I personally dont have a problem with it, but I wonder what changed their minds.? I thought they did a poll and the outcome was in favour of keeping it "Trade only".?

    1987 Uwatec Dive Computer

In my opinion this is one of the best computers ever produced for basic recreational diving, it was rebranded by so many manufacturers that I forget now, super reliable, long battery life, easy to read and understand - you dont need a manual dive with it once and you will know everything there...

posidon cyklon 3950 1st stage HELP!!!

I dont understand what you mean by that.? Do you mean it starts free flowing? or its really hard to breathe on.? Generally (although not always) if it creeps and starts to free flow chances are the HP seat is either damaged or it has some dirt stuck on it, pull it out and have a good look...

    Boots

Theres literally dozens of boot models out there, most of them pretty good. I dont like suggesting particular brands because they are all good (actually they generally ALL come out of two major factories in Asia) its just the finish that you need to consider. At the minimum I would look...

    Chlorine

No, not really. As others have said just rinse the gear well and all should be fine. Pay special attention to your wetsuit though, chlorine can bleach fabrics quite quickly if you dont give it a good rinse, although it wont do the integrity of the suit any harm, you may start to get that...

Compressor Recommendations 4 small dive shop PLEASE

I would look around for a newish Bauer Mariner with a P41 filtration system. If you are buying new, look at the new Bauer Mariner 320 with an electric engine and a P41 filtration tower. I ran three mariners in tandem for more than 10 years working 6-8 hours a day continously, with almost...

    beuchat VX-10 iceberg

I think you mean the VXT 8? This is the older generation of first stages and the HP seat is differant to the new V model (100 + 200) first stage mentioned above. However, theres no differance between the HP seats on the VXT 10 and the VXT8, the one was just a swivel turret (VXT10), and the...

    Last Refuge of a Scoundrel?

I wonder what the chain of shops was called, I dived in the Maldives often in the 80's and 90's but I cant remember a "chain" of shops, most were really small independants. Unless he was involved with the big hotel groups and had a "shop" so to speak in each hotel.? Would be very interesting...

    Beuchat Masterlift Tek!

I have to say in defense of Beuchat, that in my opinion they make d**n fine BC's. The Masterlift Tec is certainly not everyones cup of tea, (which BC is?) but as far as construction and function go's it works a treat. You have to decide what suits your diving style in a BC, but theres...

    Aladin Sport battery change

Can you post a picture of it so we know the model.? A pic always makes it easier to identify, then you can be sure of getting the right info.
