Yeah I’m not sure about the both in one week thing, even though boat transfer instead of flight helps. Some years back I think they did this with a week in each place, but probably harder to fill that.
One thing is the same, they do it like peak of hurricane when it may be harder to fill rooms.
Until someone interprets the rules their own way. Sounds too much like a story from Mexico.
My husband carries what I consider way too much camera gear and would be a good candidate for getting hit. ( I thought his latest camera would be smaller, boy was I silly. Then he discovered his old...
That’s an an advantage of staying on Dunbar Rock rather than “mainland” Guanaja, avoids the bugs. (We had some beach time on the main island, yikes.) I think its why so much of the population lives on Bonacca. Not sure about Clark’s Cay since it actually has beach and outdoors that isn’t...
Possibly no replies as they aren’t big dive destinations and don’t really have dive resorts, depending on your definition of dive resort. Mine is a hotel mostly full of divers or at least a fair number, with dive packages, dive shop with boats leaving right from there right there or supporting...
I used to have one of those. I don’t think this can be a straight bulb replacement, more like an electronics project involving new/hacked guts. (Did that once long ago converting a old 4C light to a 3C UV LED light, after learning here of a partly drop in solution. But I did it more to get a...
Yes, I meant to reply to you. But I guess maybe more to @Umuntu. My point was, its easy to say take it to a shop you trust. But how do you figure that out? Don’t ding someone for asking here.
It’s a second opinion of sorts, what’s wrong with that? Like “does this sound right?”There are actually people on here that know what they’re talking about, while not every dive shop is competent.
If they didn’t have it serviced and something went wrong, someone would be here saying just the...
BH is a long pricey trip from San Pedro. What many will say is it’s worth it for the other dives they will do in the area. From what I’ve always heard, those should be much better dives than around San Pedro. (It's a shame no one offers 3 tanks out there without doing the BH, but I guess they...
I love durian but I’ve never eaten it straight. Maybe its all in the preparation. I’ve always had it in various deserts at dimsum places. Also durian ice cream and some other stuff in Jakarta.
I remember the beach being narrow but nice enough. All the public areas of the hotel- pool restaurants etc. have been turned into some kind of beach club so I dunno what its all like now.
We did a 4 night liveaboard from Cairns and mostly dove some of the ribbon reefs, which were certainly better. Would have preferred a 7 night but wasn’t availability when we needed. We haven’t gotten back. But there is other non-LOB diving that sounds pretty good, like the islands I mentioned...
Well I wasn’t impressed by the dives I did in that area. I imagine it was very nice once but the areas close to Cairns have been heavily dove for years and looked pretty beat to me even years ago. So just skeptical of claims like “best GBR has to offer”. It is what it is and may suit you fine...
Where else have you been diving? The 2day/1night trips from Cairns I imagine your are looking at are unlikely to give you the dive experience of a lifetime. You need to get further than they can go to get to the better stuff from Cairns, at least a 3-4 night LOB. Not that you shouldn’t do it...
It could be either or both. You should always get them serviced together, surprised your tech guy didn’t say this. Take your first stage in while the seconds are still there.
You said you bought a new first, was it because of this? What you have may be fine after service.
We did a similar thing many years ago, with business in Gold Coast which is an easy hourish train ride from Brisbane. Wanted to do a 7 night liveaboard from Cairns but couldn’t make scheduling and availability work. Wound up on a 3 night liveaboard (Taka - long gone) that did southern ribbon...
