A lot of discomfort with fins can be corrected with technique. Imagine skipping in a field. That's the motion you want to fin in. Keep your knees & ankles fluid and firm; not rigid/locked and not floppy/loose.
If your discomfort with the fins comes only when you start kicking, most likely it's...
What is your Safety Stop protocol for deep dives?
Past 18m I start doing Deep Stops. 1-2min at half my max depth, then Safety Stop 3min at 6m, and if I'm feeling for it another 1min at 3-4m.
Personally I've found headaches to happen for me after multiple dives with fast ascents. Usually occurs...
Look in the mirror with your mouth open. You want the back of your tongue to shunt at the roof of your mouth. It will direct air through to your nose. The tip of your tongue can still be laying completely flat with you doing this.
The only exception would be if you have a case of ankyloglossia...
Bingo, but depending on how much credit you give it seemed to me that the article could be flopping either ways since the author did highly recommend 2 window but then recommend a single lens mask in the 3 recommendations below.
Umm, unless I'm missing something, masks aren't double pane tempered glass. And if one lens breaks, the whole mask floods because it's not like they've invented bulkheads inside the mask.
Just had a good laugh at that.
They're both the same OEM masks, just branded differently and with different consistency in the silicone skirt.
For masks at least & a couple instances of regs (Halcyon & Scubapro) this is usually the issue.
I have a Cressi SuperOcchio and a Dive Rite Stowaway, same situation. the DR is more...
Don't forget to wrench the wingnuts just a tiny bit on the STA. The cold water will contract the metal and cause them to loosen and freespin if you only handtighten.
Best investment I've made was Delrin thumbscrews in place of metal wingnuts. Either the Star (ie. DSS) or Circle (ie. Highland)...
More water will get into any BC if you use the pull dumps and not the inflator predominantly.
Transitioning to a Bp/W you may find that you hold the dump open longer than necessary and trim out more extreme than necessary when using the rear dump. This can result more water entering the BC when...
It's a good suggestion. I wanted to add that in practice it doesn't give enough distance to trim out without putting your head within a foot of your victim's chest. Nothing poo poo-ing on what you posted.
The biggest benefit of a 40-44in hose on angle adapter is horizontal swimming with an OOA...
Other way around, I mean in the share air scenario you'll be only be able to deflate in a vertical position by removing the Air 2 from your mouth. I meant you being unable to do all 3 of those criteria as a whole event, not separately.
The problem comes in an OOA share scenario when you need to...
Yes you can but you lose out on the ability to share air, ascend, and deflate vertically without losing your air source for a moment for so.
Bp/W's are horrible to pair with Air 2's in my opinion because they lack a spare shoulder dump like stock BC's do.
Wicking base layer is fancy terms for nylon, polyester, & spandex blends.
Get something mostly nylon or polyester and you'll be fine. 100% spandex may not get what you're looking for wicking wise.
I would steer away from cotton blends because usually you'll come out with it being damp and that...
Crawl on hands and knees when you get knocked down. Either back out to ocean or all the way high and dry.
Trying to standup from a fall in scuba gear is not going to get you anything but more falls. If you're lucky, the surf will tumble and push you further up onto the beach, but you'll still...
I think the point was ease in making backwards progress in the water or ergo creating thrust. If you can't do 100 ft or 33yds without heavy strain and fatigue, you have ill suited fins to do a back kick in the first place.
As for my practical applications, I usually do at least 25yds when...
UN-USA, DOT, ICC, CTC, and TC are all legal to hydro in the USA. ie. legal to use in the US
Basically UN, US, & Canadian Cylinders.
However the Fill Station Operator can reject any of them if they make him feel unsafe.

Absolutely NO to swapping those burst discs, because you compromise the safety feature on your 2400psi LP95's. They are hydroed to a 4000psi test pressure; if say your tanks were heated and the pressure exceeded 4000psi, the 5000psi burst disks wouldn't go. Now you risk the tank shattering...
Roughly and usually 5/3's working pressure, or Hydro Test pressure.
Some MFG's will go slightly less.
You will find the Burst Disk rating stamped into the burst disk usually along it's edge.
2400psi working has a 4000psi burst disk
3000psi working pressure has 5000psi burst disk
3442psi working...
There are many different ways you can wear your lead weights for diving.
3 most common ways are:
Weightbelt
BC Integrated Weight Pockets
Weight Harness
All of these methods have a quick release feature.
BC Integrated is usually some form of a handle and clip, very similar to a backpack clip...
