Pales in comparison to MaxBottomtime's high quality pics, but a memorable experience nonetheless from Anilao, PI where a little guy took an interest in my camera...
Maybe she knows it from extensive research and/or friends or family who dive there regularly. Who are you to make seemingly snarky comments? And staff yet...
IIRC, there was travel time from Maasin to Sogod Bay, plus the ferry was horribly late one way, and filled with cockroaches the other, nor was the sailing time particularly short.
The only hindrances I can see re: flying are weight limitations and infrequency. Sadly, no trip to the PI for me...
I believe there's now a flight from the town north of Maasin... Tacloban (sp?) to Cebu. 20 minutes. When I next have the good fortune to dive in Sogod Bay, I'll be looking into flying over ferrying.
If you don't want to pay extra for a private guide during the day, you can check with the other dive shop just east of the bridge that puts a guide in the water for whomever wants to tag along during their night dives. They're limited throughout the month, but if one's available while you're...
I believe it's Force-E that provides new divers with a map of BHB underwater. I think as long as you stay out of the boat lanes, you'll be fine on your own. I'm just a 'tourist' diver, but I dived it solo last time I was there and live to tell the tale. ;)
I've had similar experiences in the past when I was more active on the board. IMO, you are overreacting. As the target of this thread wrote below, if you were uncomfortable, you should've contacted him first to resolve it, rather than the board at large. Or, since you opted to go the public...
My vote is for the Cressi Archimede II. The battery is cheap, readily available and incredibly easy to change, in addition having large numbers as you require (unlike my previous computer, Aeris XR2). Plus generally affordable! I bought my back-up on Ebay for $70. Works perfect.
One pair of pockets plus two 1 lb. soft weights. Excellent condition as I don't recall ever using these.

I'll be in the US on Saturday, April 2 and will ship from WA state.
