JUst so SCUBABOARD.COM knows , he still is at it unethical behaviour

Thanks for taking the time to type up these 2 posts, Bill! Turns out I've been in the 'wrong' group all this time. ;) (Haven't been in the PI in over 5 yrs, unfortunately, and was not aware of Mr DA's story at all until now.)

    Canadian diver on the road

Welcome to SB, Bill! Good on you for trying, and seemingly abandoning 'local' diving. ;) (I got drysuit certified to essentially prove to all the naysayers that diving in our shared neck of the woods wasn't ever going to be for me.) Be sure to post your u/w pics if you're taking any. :)

    Vertigo....can't remember dive

Interesting; never heard of this. I still have less than 500 dives, but I've never had this happen to me and I always equalize unequally--assuming I'm understanding the term correctly. My right ear is very fussy and will only equalize by me putting my tongue against the roof of my mouth then...

    Swimming lessons

I learned this way originally, on 3, and wound up getting extremely anxious because of too much time between breaths. Suffice to say, I couldn't even swim a full lap, as I'd have to stop by the time I got to the opposite end of the pool, hold on and reset myself. Decades later, I took swimming...

Cabanbanan Dive Resort, Romblon - still in business??

I know Cabanbanan took a major hit during a typhoon a few years ago, and their FB page stated they'd be closed for some time. A new website was mentioned on their FB page, Geschichte - Verein Hilf Philippinen, so I ran chunks of it through Google Translate to see if the resort had reopened. It...

How do you pack your gear for an internatIonal dive trip?

Interesting. I wonder if things have changed then. I must have passed through airports at least a dozen times in the PI and never had any problems whatsoever, and my reg was always in my carry-on, as was my u/w camera.

How do you pack your gear for an internatIonal dive trip?

Where did you hear/read this about regs and the PI? Is this something relatively recent? I haven't been there since 2012, I think, but had taken multiple flights throughout the country and always had my regs in my carry-on.

DIVE DRY WITH DR. BILL #899: KEEPING THE KIDS CLOSE BY

I know of a former diver who went vegan after being vegetarian for many years, apparently. His cat died at approx. 15 and spent her last few years on a vegan diet created by a vet. Both the dry and canned versions from this vet's line contained enough nutrients/supplements to compensate for the...

Best place to retire in the Philippines with great shore and boat diving?

Does no one cook at home anymore? If you're planning on taking up residency v. just traveling, I wouldn't think eating out would be such a big deal. If you're in Dauin, however, I recommend the restaurant at El Dorado--assuming it's still there. Great selection and I'm fussy. ;)

Last Minute in the Philippines - Dec 1-7, 2018... Advice?

I stayed at Sogod Bay DR a few years ago and quite loved it. I don't recall much socializing going on in their restaurant as they're quite small, but the town is within walking distance, IIRC. The ferry was a drag, but I believe the service has improved and/or there are flights to the town/city...

    Passports

Did you check to see if you need a visa for the PI from the US? We Canadians do, but IIRC, it's only for stays over a certain amount. (My stays ranged from 3-5 wks, and I believe I needed a visa each time.)
