I never assume that free shipping = "speedy delivery." That's usually the trade-off.

Depending on the size of the package, there can be notable savings with UPS mail innovations. I use them when I offer free shipping on items and the price difference between this service and USPS is quite significant.

TMJ dislocating constantly after diving - jaw support?

I double-checked my primary just now and it appears I misspoke. I DID try a custom mouthpiece... still remember moulding it... but for whatever reason, I abandoned it. I now use a comfo bite. (I haven't been able to dive in a few years, so no wonder I forgot.) I mentioned configuration b/c I do...

TMJ dislocating constantly after diving - jaw support?

Fellow sufferer here, but not to the extent that you do. I went with a custom mouthpiece. I never had the issue that my jaw was so loose that either water got in or the reg floated out... I would definitely play around with that while dry. If you haven't already done so, see where your lower...

I am guessing no one has ever dove in Joffre Lakes before...

Henry of (the former) Edge Diving just off Marine Drive? If so, or not, that shop is missed.

    Relatively New Diver from Vancouver!

There's a BC Divers Buy, Sell and Trade group on FB that you can check out for gear. They seem to be a small group that tends to know each other, so likely safe(ish). Also, a quick search in FB Marketplace for "scuba" turned up all kinds of gear. Are there any dive shops left in the lower...

Charters in Palm Beach and Broward Counties opened back up!

Yes, Kevin Metz. I didn't see any re-opening announcement on FB or his webpage, so was wondering. Ideally, he's back at at soon if it's still his primary source of income, or he's found other ventures to put his talents towards.

Charters in Palm Beach and Broward Counties opened back up!

Is Kevin up and running again? I didn't see anything via FB, but his reservation system appears to be open; however, not sure to what extent people actually use it, as I haven't had the opportunity to dive in FL in quite some time.

Charters in Palm Beach and Broward Counties opened back up!

I was only doing Nitrox. However, I think he also had a pair along doing AOW. Regardless, when I told my experienced tech diver pal about it, he knew right away who I was speaking of, so clearly there was a reputation at play.

    Hello from Paris

Best to get started on a positive note. Had the first response somewhere else on the board been an attack on your diving, nationality, politics, etc., you'd never want to log back in again. (Mark my words, at least one of these will happen soon enough. ;) )

Charters in Palm Beach and Broward Counties opened back up!

Great you got out! And sorry to read about the lax protocol. How were the dives themselves, though? I ask b/c I did a couple of check-out dives with this boat once... nothing but a whole lotta sand, which is what I've heard from other far more experienced divers than me with regard to this op...

Any thoughts on what the customs clearance process is like for Canadians moving to the US temporarily on a TN work visa?

Helicopter crew rescues drifter - Miami Florida

I googled a bit after I posted my response, and it is free (no mention of criminal charges for those who willfully go off bounds); however, SAR is operated by volunteers--at least that which I'm most familiar with: hiking or skiing issues.

Helicopter crew rescues drifter - Miami Florida

Not entirely certain, but I doubt it. Here people are more likely to need a search and rescue if they've gone off trail, whether hiking or skiing, than water sports.

Helicopter crew rescues drifter - Miami Florida

Do they charge for this sort of thing in the US? I sure hope so. Article stated a small craft warning was in effect.

I bought a house in Lake City

May I ask what kind of quotes you've been getting to ship your items over? I would've thought it cheaper to just buy major pieces of furniture at your new location, but I guess if you've got room in a container and are paying a flat rate for it, possibly not. Good luck, btw. ;)
