I use an Oxycheq ultralite backplate... it's basically just fabric, so no need for a titanium BP. ;)

Thanks! Someone upthread posted the same link as well. As I couldn't find a titanium buckle while googling about, I'm thinking this is my most realistic best bet. ;)

I'm trying to get my BP/W as light as possible for travel. I've 'upgraded' to an ultralite Oxycheq BP and 18# wing so notable weight savings over the previous set-up. The last place I can find to trim weight is the buckle. I know the SS buckle is less than a pound (just tried weighing mine), but...

I have an Oxycheq ultralite BP that I dive with an 18# Oxycheq wing, plus a crotch strap, and it's extremely stable. I only dived briefly with a SS plate, but I don't recall it being any more stable than the ultralite. I'm now looking at getting rid of my DSS kydex plate as it's way too heavy...

Last week while diving in Florida, I noticed that one of my Halcyon trim weight pockets had a massive rip along the bottom seam. Thanks for the added info, guys! I'm leaning towards Force-E as they have DIN tanks, but they don't post dive flags as rentals on their website. I'll call on Monday when it's slow for more info. If not, I'll follow up with Stuart Scuba. Oddly, they didn't turn up when I googled Under the Bridge...

Do they actually rent tanks and dive flags, for example? I had a look at the closest thing I could find to their website (jupiteroutdoorcenter) and there was only info on snorkel gear rentals. (It's Saturday today so I don't want to call them as I'm sure they're very busy.)
