Is someone SERIOUSLY advocating using and abusing a computer by following its recommendations to the letter without understanding how it works or, more importantly, what its limitations are? And is he advocating doing this for tech dives?!?
So divers who dive in thick wetsuits (2 piece, 14mm across the chest etc) aren't correct divers then?
Or divers who dive with large cylinders with LOTS of gas in them?
I agree with you that ideally you want as little gas in your BC as possible and that even with large amounts of gas in...
Aaah, okay then. Thank you. :)
So it would be accurate to say that your product takes a bit of practice to use properly then? What with having to inflate simultaneously.
Uhhh ... you didn't answer DA's question. No offense but most people here don't respond well to the 'marketing runaround' (I really wanted to put in another word making reference to bovines and their natural bodily functions but thought better of it).
Its great that you have confidence in your...
:hijack:
Can't really comment on the hair/shampoo/water combo because I never wash my hair the day I'm going diving because I only end up washing it again when I get home but I will make another hair comment.
The one and only thing I hate about diving is how it screws up my hair! Medusa...
Good point about the vertically challenged divers Bubbletrubble. I sometimes dive with some girls half my mass who go wild underwater; arms waving, buoyancy all over the place, zooming about at top speed and they come out with about the same amount of gas as me. I would hate to see their SAC...
Hahaha! Good eye diver_85! That would be the Chuck Norris of all tanks.
I shudder to think what the compressor to fill that baby would look like.
Corrected the post now. ;)
How do you work out that you have 1500 psi remaining?
0.5 cf/min * 4 atm * 30 mins = 60 cf.
That is 0.75 of a 80 cf tank which, if it is rated at 3000 psi works out to be 2250 psi. So after 30 mins you have 750 psi left. Huge difference between that and the 1500 psi you mentioned.
If...
I've got to say: internet snobbery over having the most 'scientifically acceptable' spelling is just pathetic. Scientifically acceptable? REALLY?!?
What is next? 'Haha! Your mother tongue isn't the universal language. '
I think the best way to answer this question is to recommend that you sit down and work out out for yourself. Think about which changes in buoyancy you use your BC to compensate for and then think about how those changes happen while you are underwater.
The tool that rstofer recommended is...
If you use doubles with a traditional BCD you will DIE!!!!
Just kidding ... using your Balance to dive doubles is well within the realms of possibility and there is nothing wrong with doing so. It certainly won't kill you as long as you take precautions (such as keeping in mind your lift...
J.R. ... I'm not even going to attempt to touch the can of worms you guys are feasting on there with a 10 foot pole, I value my sanity too much. I do however want to address your potential reasons for this guy's sculling with his hands.
Being shallow and upright is NOT an excuse for arm waving...
If you are planning on doing diving involving deco you will be buy a LOT more than just a BP/W and spending huge amounts of cash. The BP/W is probably what you will spend the least on in the end. Seriously, you'll look back and wish the only thing you had to buy was a BP/W.
People always say...
Doesn't matter if you have a 17lb wing or a 100lb wing, if you get caught in a downcurrent you ARE going down no matter what. The ocean is infinitely times stronger than us.
As for the other two, those are things you should factor in to your calculations when determining how much lift you...
I work as a DM for my University's club and I'm not treated as a grunt or gopher either. While I hesitate to say that I am treated as an equal, I do so because you can't really compare an instructor and a DM. They perform two different functions, both of which are necessary for the teaching...
I actually had to stop watching after the first 30 seconds or so. All that arm waving was emotionally disturbing. :depressed:
There was a little voice in my head saying "Make it stop, make it stop, MAKE IT STOOOOOOOOP!"
:dork2:
I was in the pool practicing my skills and when I went to clip my SPG back onto the d-ring I accidentally clipped it to the double-ender on my reel.
ZOMG ... I GOTS TEH NARCOZIZ IN TEH POOLZ!
:dork2:
