    Any Hockey Fans Around???

My HABS are starting to smell like 3 day old fish.....and they're really pissing me off!!! They played like contenders the entire first half of the season, but now the wheels are starting to fall off. Rumor is they are seriously considering Forsberg, to see if he can bring some leadership...

    Why are jetfins so good?

Sorry, was watching a hockey game.....UVM vs Maine Black Bears...it's intermission. I'm sure you're right, I most definitely would learn new techniques and I'm not so arrogant to think I know better than everyone else. As I posted before, I did see some very informative videos on their site...

    Why are jetfins so good?

That's why I doubt I'd ever waste money on a DIR class. Anyone that tells me there's only one way to do something loses me right there. You can tell me why you recommend I do something, and then I'll decide, but "my way or the highway" doesn't work for me. I have been to their website, and see...

    Why are jetfins so good?

Ok, but why? As you state, they look very similar.....what makes one great and the other, as you say "the worst". Materials? Angle the fin comes off the foot pocket? Size of louvers? I've used Rockets and like them. Why would I like Jets more if I got the chance to use them? Just trying to...

    Why are jetfins so good?

My instructor, is a tech diver and so is his wife. They were married in the grotto in Ginny Springs. He is a member of Colchester Rescue, recognized as one of the best rescue squads in Vt, and called upon all over the state. Both he and his wife swear by the FF for all of their tech diving, and...

    Why are jetfins so good?

I started with a pair of Rockets back in the 70's. I loved them then, and still do, but when fatigued I got cramps. I tried a pair of FF Pros and have never gotten cramps, so I almost use them exclusively now. The only time I pull my Rockets out, are when I have long surface swims, or a ripping...

Where to vacation for picky diver

What about Nassau? You and your hubby can dive with Stuart Cove, vis is normally 60 ft+, and if you decide not to dive, Stuart Cove always has enough divers for him to have a buddy while you enjoy all that Nassau has to offer. Besides, I've been seeing some great packages to Nassau, C-Dawg

Do you listen to the Voice?

I have ignored "the voice" and luckily lived to regret it. In my circle of dive buddies, we have a rule that anyone can call a dive, at any time, for any reason. We've called more than one dive because "something just doesn't feel right", and we've all lived to dive another day. C-Dawg

    Trip to Bahamas

I always bring my equipment, and have an LL Bean backpack that it travels in. I throw a towel across the bottom, then my regulator goes in. My Force fins go bown the back wall, and I stuff a T-shirt and swim trunks in and around my mask and that goes in. Then my camera and dive computer. I carry...

    Scubadiving is:

Shouldn't it be...surprised a snorkler hasn't figured out? Reminds me of the Dave Barry quote "I will spare you a gushy description of the dive itself, except to say that when you finally see what goes on underwater, you realize that you've been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on...

Western Caribbean Destinations (have you been there)?

When I did the cruise, it was both a family vacation, and a chance for me to go diving. Therefore, I had to pick a couple to dive, and a couple to hang with family. I chose to dive Coz and Belize, and did family days in Grand Cayman and Costa Maya. I'm glad I chose as I did, as the Mayan ruins...

Western Caribbean Destinations (have you been there)?

They are marked up a bit...I seem to remember a 2 tank dive package cost about $100. You can get it much less, but if you book thru the cruiseline, they WILL wait for you if the diveboat is late getting back. IMHO the extra $20 is well worth it. C-Dawg
