    Tasmania and Bicheno

This is a general view from the cliffs at Eaglehawk Neck, looking South. Dive through Cathedral Cavern, in Waterfall Bay: and Horseshoe Cave and a dive off Maria Island, check out the sea whips:

    Tasmania and Bicheno

Our club is Tasmanian Scuba Diving Club, our website, which is still very much under construction is: http://www.tsdc.org.au We are a fully independent club, with own boat, although we have a loose association with Aqua-Scuba in Elizabeth Street, meaning we get discounts on air, cylinder...

    Tasmania and Bicheno

She's sitting upright in 28M, it's 18m to the upper deck. Sinking went very well, was delayed for an hour or two when a pod of dolphins turned up, so they weren't too keen on firing the sinking charges. The photos were taken by one of our clubs stalwart members James P, who lurks on here, so...

A very bad week in Florida

Come off it Bruce, you are flying off overseas to the Far East and Caribbean to go diving every 6 weeks or so; you find both the time (and money) and manage the jetlag to do that don't you? Poor excuses mate. Boy oh boy, it didn't take em long to see through you on here did it? Friday...

    Tasmania and Bicheno

I'll fully endorse everything that Rohan has said. Also, you could look into a dive from Triabunna, which is also on the East Coast, more or less halfway between Bicheno and the Tasman Peninsula. This is the base for dives on a new attraction, the Troy D, our first purpose-sunk dive wreck...

A very bad week in Florida

Brucie crying poor? I don't believe this. He goes mercifully quiet on DN on average once every 4-6 weeks, because he is jetting across the world, to dive destinations in the Red Sea, Philipines, Bonaire, Menorca and all points in between (or that's what he tells us), his profile mentions that he...

A very bad week in Florida

You have to laugh don't you? Since Friday night my time, this has been running on at least 6 fora that I'm aware of, three based in the UK, three in the US. They say "no publicity is bad publicity", but you have to wonder about this one.

A very bad week in Florida

Poor old Bruceie. Cliques to the right of him, Cliques to the left of him, Cliques in front of him. Into the Valley of Death rode Poor Brucie. (Apologies to Lord Tennyson) So what about that Motoring Forum you were banned from? Lightning strikes twice eh, you must be the unluckiest man in Britain.

So what do you reckon this is?

OK, I've actually finally found out what both of these are but for the big long white feller in particular, it took a few days of searching to work it out. Both found at Fortescue Bay in the SE of Tasmania on a dive a coupla weeks back, in about 20M of water, temp was around 16-17 degrees C...

A very bad week in Florida

10/10 for observation. Why don't you ask Brucie if he's ever been banned from a forum? In fact, I dare you to ask him if he's been banned from more than one forum. Like two forums (or fora) for instance.

    aqualung Octopus

As long as you don't tell the Aqualung 1st stage that it's supplying an Oceanic Occie and vice versa, I reckon you'd be OK.

Aquatec Alternate regulator, Inflator, with Sub Alert unit (Air-3)

I had an aquatec BCD mouthpiece, with the built in air horn. My advice? Leave the integrated air horn well alone. Mine failed within a few dives and just blew air (lots of it) continuously through the horn. The problem was, that unlike the conventional airhorns whicgh are a separate piece of...

    Carrying a Pony....

Sidesling - cylinder is accessible, you can see it, check spg, if present; you can unclip it to hand it off to another OOA diver but it gets in the way (a bit) before entering the water, otherwise fine. Clamped to primary cylinder - out of the way, you don't know it's there but none of the...

    Carrying a Pony....

Only thing is, you have practiced in "practice" conditions. When the pressure is on, and you are OOA, you will probably find that your air consumption is somewhat higher than under ideal practice conditions.

do you intervene with cruel nature?

Can't say I've ever seen it but to my mind it would be a ridiculous thing to do....leave well alone, if only because it's unwise to mess with top order predators like sharks, which have just as much right to a living as you or I. Also, would you intervene in an abbatoir to save a steer from...

How deep have you gone and why ?

What, are your arms 3 feet long then? You'd be popular with the girls.

How deep have you gone and why ?

I didn't know there were scallops at Bicheno. 42m (140ft) on 21% nitrox with Tassi Devil Diver (who if truth be known is more of a possum), on the SS Nord a few years back. I think he remembers it, which pleases me, because I was that off my face, I don't.

    New Boy From Tassie.

Hi James, Nah mate, I'm diving Sunday, you're doing Saturday aren't you? Took Dan out at Cray Point tonight, get him shaken out a bit for the weekend. 2m vis very scungy. I thought the avatar was if anything, a bit underexposed, :mooner: but it will have to do I suppose. Do you like the...
