    Hydro Shop?

This is a very general question, but what would one need in order to open a hydro/vis shop? What sort of training/insurance/licensing/equipment would one need in order to do this?? Thanks in advance. -Rich

Hydros...Is this crazy or am I?

Thank you for the information, but I did indeed take it to the hydro shop(facility), not a dive shop. This facility charges $35 for the hydro/vis(!), the only other one I know about is in Palm Beach County and charges $40(!) for the hydro/vis, but that one is a dive shop as well. I understand...

Hydros...Is this crazy or am I?

Another question, as far as the shops that take out the valves to hydro but do not replace, do they just send/give you back your tank with an open plug and a valve alongside? Or do they have some sort of metal/plastic plug in there? Thanks alot for all of your replies, it has put me at...

Hydros...Is this crazy or am I?

I actually found my valve, still wrapped in plastic, in a pile of valves which were apparently meant for the tanks. What's scary is that, as far as I know, there is one hydro shop in Palm Beach County(Where I Live) and one in Broward County( just south of where I go to school). I have not heard...

Hydros...Is this crazy or am I?

Hey all, I have a few steel 72s that were out of hydro/viz. I took one in(the oldest and gnarliest) to make sure it would pass before I even messed with the others. Well, I took it in two weeks ago, and it was ready a week ago. I haven't had a chance to get it until today. When I went into...

    Rhino Lining a Tank!

I could be wrong, but as I understand it, factory paint is permissible, but aftermarket coatings are not.

    Rhino Lining a Tank!

I don't see why you couldn't rhino line it. However, for every vis and hydro the lining would have to be removed to check for corrosion, so it would prob get ridiculously expensive in the long run.

    help with equipment?

Ahhh...This particular can of worms has been opened once again. If you are a vacation diver who only gets in a few dives per year, you definitely don't need a full set of gear. A well-fitting mask, a set of fins you like, and a wetsuit which has been saturated in your pee only. These are your...

Selling some equipment - need advise

Try searching here on SB to see what your items go for. I would also just google the actual items and see what turns up.

Free Travel Bag with Aeris package SCAM

:rofl3::rofl3: My friend, you are obviously trolling in an effort to get me worked up. I won't bite on that account. If Doug feels offended, I apologize. That was not my intention. I stated, multiple times, that this is not Aeris's fault, that it is in fact, the rep's fault. I commend Doug...

Free Travel Bag with Aeris package SCAM

Thank you, I did. I did read that the issue was taken to the manufacturer and it was solved. It should have never gotten to the point of contacting the manufacturer. The items were not bought directly from Aeris, they were bought from a shop. My point in the statement you were both kind enough...

Free Travel Bag with Aeris package SCAM

From what I understand, the issue wasn't special ordering bags not in stock. The issue (as I understand, please correct if otherwise) was that the bags were made unavailable by a dealer who insisted that the gear had to be special ordered, not the bags. The website is pretty clear on this. It...

    Split fins v paddle fins

Apparently, my preference was not stated in a serious enough manner for 300 bar. Why preference should be stated in a stone-faced, serious matter is completely beyond me. To answer the question in a way that will hopefully not get it taken off by 300 bar as being off topic: I dive Jetfins, and...

Free Travel Bag with Aeris package SCAM

I am a little unclear on this. I just want to make sure I have this right: You went to the dive shop. You told them about your interest in dive gear. You mentioned the Aeris deal, and inquired about that. You bought a qualifying reg( AT400 sport or pro), qualifying octo(airlink, gyro, or a1)...

    Newly Converted!!

I owned a pair of Force Fins for about 2 months last year. Unfortunately, I had bought a size too small, and could only wear them barefoot. I loved getting them in the water, but saw no use for them without boots. Ever since getting rid of them, I have been itching to get another set. Blair...

    WTB Force Fins

Thank you for the replies. I'm sorry to say that I have not been checking this one for updates. On the other hand, I am happy to report that, with the help of Blair Mott, I was able to get a great set of fins for a great price. Thanks, Blair

    Sea Emperor 7/12

A couple of friends, my girlfriend, and I all dove the Sea Emperor yesterday. We went out through Parrot Island Scuba Adventures on the Fish Food. The dive was awesome! The depth was about 70 feet, and the viz was beautiful. There was a bit of a current, so we all had to descend down the line...

    Any info on the Lofthus

yeah....I'm not that familiar with Manalapan, but from that view, there is no parking, and i would have to sneak through someone's yard to get to it. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Anyone got any ideas on a good, easy shore-dive spot in the jupiter to boynton area?
