is there anything missing from the dive industry?

Soooooo you want carbon fiber light weight tanks? You'll just be spending a LOT more money for a light weight tank that'll be so buoyant you'll just have to add a ton of weight to your weight belt and negate the purpose of it. Also, skateboard pros own surf shops now? ---------- Post added...

    Past Medical Issues

The vertigo issue sounds like an isolated event. If you find a pilot who has told you he/she hasn't had vertigo at some point, especially if flying IFR, then they're lying. If you were in a Cessna 152/172/182 then that experience sounds totally normal. I was totally twisted out of my mind when I...

    Post-rescue depression???

Definitely agree with that. Get a massive output from the adrenal gland paired with traumatic experience and it takes the brain a while to normalize.

    LDS won't viz my tank...

In addition to that the eddy current tech needs to know what they are doing. Inconsistent turning of the probe can cause false positives as well.

    Post-rescue depression???

Yes, it is normal. I'll share with you a personal experience. (For some background, I have a degree in Psychology and am former law enforcement)... After I finished college I went to the police academy and joined up with a municipal police department. I knew the risks involved and had been a...

Ambulance and Fire Truck at Pebble Beach

I'd hate to be that dive operator. 2 of your 11 divers get into separate incidents on the same dive, one resulting in death and the other an ambulance ride? Hope they have good insurance. Prayers go out to the families.

    LDS won't viz my tank...

Don't start a 6351/6061 fight. Anyone paying for eddy current on a 6061 is a tool.

Kaua'i with Girl and the GoPro

New user, 1 post, GoPro ad. GoPro prices have dropped recently and really hard. Kinda like the 2s did before the 3s came out... What could the 4 have that the 3 doesn't besides ability to focus and some enormously high resolution for stills (thus making it effective for both video and photo)...

    Purchasing from leisure pro

That's the problem I've always run into with them. Turns out they run on the Jewish holiday calendar. I had no idea until last September when they were only open a few days and I was trying to get something on order for a customer. So, expect delays: Rosh HaShanah SEPT. 4 - 6 2013 Yom...

Her First Dive Didn't Go so Well

Agree with Diver0001 and abyss. Who knows what happens with the students that aren't biological offspring and in a group setting if this is what happens 1-on-1 with family.

    Lost Card - Unknown Agency

^ All I can guess is that he skirts problems by: -The fact that diving certs aren't licenses so he can print whatever he wants with a card printer -I'm guessing he never puts any logos on the cards to avoid copyright violation -No jurisdiction actually cares. As a former law enforcement...

    Fukushima

I especially like: "Starting in the 1960s, the lake began to dry out; its area dropped from 0.5 km2 in 1951[1] to 0.15 km2 by the end of 1993.[6] In 1968, following a drought in the region, the wind carried 185 PBq (5 MCi) of radioactive dust away from the dried area of the lake, irradiating...
