I didn't mind the grate either but you're right about the elbow. Not to mention it was a bit of an eyesore. Then you had the times where someone would try and go around behind it with total lack of buoyancy control and completely churn everything up.
@John - That's good news. Hopefully sooner...
If anyone goes soon could they post if the elbow is being replaced? I know a lot of people are hoping it won't be and I definitely fall into that crowd. Evidently it isn't needed anymore and not replacing it should improve flow, even if it's just a little bit. I'll be curious to see, based on...
Sounds like a compromised o-ring. If it failed due to pressure you'd have visual evidence of that. I still dive with a 960 and have taken it frequently to recreational depth limits. It has never even leaked a little let alone flooded. I have only ever had one customer return a GoPro and that was...
That's the proper way it is to be done. Bear in mind you are reading about someone telling people a 1 is acceptable while also saying the IDC 800m is timed, which is also incorrect.
Whoever told you that was clearly misinformed.

Thanks for the input from the CD manual. I've got one but it's a few years old.
I'd say you had room for negotiation...
Depends on a lot though. Who makes the gauges? How old is the tank and is it within hydro? How old is the BC? Remember reg service is going to cost you and based on average prices it'll be more than 25% what you paid for the entire package.
When I am...
Their website talks about a lot of things in 2011. Their FAQ page has nothing on it. The website pretty much completely lacks any information. Did they crash and burn?
I've used a Mares MR22/Abyss for over a decade without a problem. Our tech services Mares which makes up all of our student regs as well. I agree that service while on vacation could pose a potential problem, but that can be true for a lot of brands depending on the shop.
Isn't that the truth? My wife and I just yesterday were laughing at a Craigslist ad where a guy was trying to get work as a tattoo artist. His ad states:
"Just recently moved out here from Texas.
Need to build my tattoo portfolio. I don't really
Know what the tatt scene is like out here, but...
Excited to see how much they map out. Even better if they could make a nice 3D computer rendering of the network. Talk about a cool thing to be able to show to students!
I must say it is nice to see so many people on SB being supportive. It takes a lot to be able to come out and talk about a personal stress like that. It's very cool that the OP told his story and that there is a supportive network that responded. This is why I love SB :)
Whatever you do don't go numbing it with alcohol or drugs. I've seen plenty of good cops/firefighters/EMTs completely throw their lives away doing that.
