Bungee cord to hold second stage around neck

I prefer using a slightly thicker bungee, but it really doesn't make a huge difference. Knots have held up well for me so far. If you are looking for bungee, we carry both 1/8" and 3/16" by the foot.

    HMS Yukon Trip.

Too bad the vis was low. I dove the Yukon for the 1st time last year and was luck to have 60-80' great vis. What was the bottom temp? The Louis Anne is an okay boat, but I don't like the fact that they won't let you store anything below your bench, they make you put everthing up where it is...

What works for one person doesn't mean it will work for you. If you can, find a dive club (or 2) and hang out with them. Rent whatever gear you can and join them on dives. See what others are using and ask why. Most likely you will find divers willing to swap gear or lend you gear to try...

    Safety Sausage

A good friend found this out first hand last year. On a dive trip to Puerto Rico, there was a lot of current and because he was at a different depth than the rest of the group, the current was pushing faster. He ended up blowing way past the group and upon surfacing found that he could not see...

    Technique for Shooting an SMB

You depth and the lift of the marker are going to play a big part in this as well. If the marker has a lot of lift, you may not be able to fully inflate it at that depth without running into the issues you're having. The elevator ride is alway fun. I quickly learned to abandon shooting...

    Need some Can HID advice...

I agree with Bob, 100%. I don't just say this because I'm a Salvo dealer, I say this because most of my dive buddies have Salvo 18w. 18w and 10w are the biggest sellers. I have been using my well abused Sartek 10w without any complaints, but now that the light head is flooding I will be due...

    Safety sausage

Here's some photos of friends with their Carter SBM and Personal Float. I've also put a side-by-side photos of the SBM and the Personal Float to give you an idea of the difference in size. I dive with the personal float. I keep it bungeed at the bottom of my Hammerhead backplate and...

Just booked flight for key largo:op suggestions

I like the boats with Ocean Divers. The boat was very roomy and they have a ramp for boarding which will make it easy considering the wheelchair. The crew was great as well. Have Fun.

    Under your wet suit?

I just stuff my board short into the suit and live with it. Tyr and Speedo both make long cut swim shorts that should do the trick. Bike shorts work but they have extra padding you probably don't want. Tyr Sample

Yes, I was refering to diving wet.

    Doubles Hose Routing

The above routing is pretty common. Also, some folks move the inflator LP hose to the other stage, leaving the primary LP solo on it's own 1st stage. If you are taking tech or cave training, your instructor will be making suggestions based on their preference.

Buying Online V. Buying at a Local Shop

LDS who understands their market, customers and have good business sense, will stand the test of time. Online stores will need to follow same pratices to survive. One benefit of online sales is that is allows a retailer to increase their potential customer base beyond their geographical...

    Choice Of Regs

I happen to own multiple sets of DiveRite regs as well as an Aqualung LX. On that same note, I've sold 4 sets of Salvo regs this month. Get what you can afford. One thing to consider is diaphram vs. piston. It is more difficult to service a piston reg. Something to consider if you do a...

    i can't think of a better job

If you ever get down to Key West, you need to check out Mel Fisher's museum. If you have a few bucks they have an Investor's Relations office. They'll let you go out on some of the dives if you invest. ;) http://www.melfisher.com/

    Things to do in Singapore

If Newton Circus is still there, you must check it out. Giant outdoor food court, terrific at night. I ate at my first Indian resturant in Singapore back in the early 90's, The Banana Leaf, home of the "Fish Head Supreme". I also enjoyed going over to the park and getting satay off the men...

    Supplies for a Newbie

Things you won't find or get with most rental/dive charters: - SMB/Safety Sausage - Compass - Whistle If you plan on renting equipment, I would try and travel with these items. You probably won't need to use any of them, but like a seat belt, you'll be happy you have it when the time...
