    Choosing a Basic Light

The UK LED is a great light for the money. You should be happy with it and UK is very good with their warranty.

    SMB or Sausage Set Up

You will always have "floppy" problems if you are shooting your smb from 30' and above. Even at 60' it can be challenging and the size of the SMB plays a big part in it. Bigger = more air. The reason most floats have oral inflation valves is so you can fully inflate it from the surface...if...

    Need some Can HID advice...

Hi Pakman! Keep it close to your body as you've described. Take care of your light, but you don't need to baby it. These lights are well build and designed to take the normal "abuse" of the average diver. One thing you don't want to do is "flash" your HID bulb. If you turn you light on...

When month does the Keys water warm up?

What do you call cold? It was in the 70's in December. If you want to dive without a suit you might find that cold, but in a 3mil suit I found it very comfortable and I wouldn't call it cold. Call the shop you plan to dive with for an accurate update.

    Snaps and Reels

Barry Miller designed a great Primary Reel. Ask anyone who owns one. There are lots of good reels out there and each has its own pros & cons, however, I strongly suggest you avoid Trident reels. They do the job, but for the little money you save, the quality isn't there.

    Dive-Rite Regs

Like the Salvo regs, they are probably from the same source, however, each re-brander usually makes some sort of modification to distinguish their product from the next. I believe DiveRite changes out 2 parts from the original manufacturer (I don't know which) as does Salvo. Performance-wise...

    Dive-Rite Regs

I have 3 DiveRites as well as a set of Salvos that I love & use. Along with the Apex regs, these are all equally great performing regs and relatively easy to self service.

    looking for regulator

Take a look at our Salvo SR series of regs. I can probably give you a SB discount of some sort. PM me if you are interested. Keep in mind that they are DIN and would require a yoke adapter to use with a non-DIN tank. Also, look at the Aqualung Legend. I have a set that I sometimes use. Its...

Have decided to switch to BP/W Now...

For my SMB or lift bag I use 2 loops of bungee tied through holes in my backplate to hold the bag snug. On one backplate the bungee is on the bottom, by my butt. On the other, the holes are wider apart, it's bungeed to the side of the plate. Works good for me. Others use MC Packs or lift bag...

Thanks for the support Paul. We are going to add some more products in the next few weeks. Some website improvements are in the works as well.

    Wings and doubles

I have a 50# Oxycheq for doubles. Plenty of lift wet or dry with stage bottles, etc. Most of my buddies have 50# wings.

    Florida Keys shore dive locations?

We went down to the Keys after Christmas, no good beach diving. We did dive with Conch Republic Diver and Ocean Divers in Key Largo on the way dow/back. I would recommend this if you have time. In Key West we considered diving, but we heard the vis was poor. We took a cruise/snorkel/kayak...

DAN insurance. Do you have it and is it needed?

Dan Insurance is worth every penny. Just ask anyone who's had to use it. Resist the urge to save a few bucks. Some friends purchase both Dive Assure and Dan insurance just for the piece of mind.

    I need a NEW mask!

I like my X-Vision too. I Los Angeles, you'll probably find the best selection at Sports Chalet, Eco Dive Center or Reef Seekers.

Can you provide more info on the area you plan to work in, Commercial, Instructor, DM? A good friend is from SA, but presently lives in Los Angeles. I could see if he has any info. Will

Bungee cord to hold second stage around neck

I use the 3/16" and don't really notice it. I have 1/8" on my wife's set up. Since it's attached to my backup reg I can't say it bothers my lips. I rarely have that reg in my mouth. If you do experience chafe from the thicker bungee, it could be due to the size of the knot or the shape of...

Bungee cord to hold second stage around neck

??? I don't get it, should I be making fun of the person who reactivated the post? I was responding to the subject brought up in DTB1981's post. Not very good "staff" manners if you ask me.

    What size snaps to use?

I like the 3/4" (3.5" long) bolt snaps. With thick glove they are easy to access.
