I use the pony tamer and it works great. My pony is nice and secure with no wobbles. Changing tanks between dives is very easy too. Just make sure to keep the post greased and it should do everything you are looking for.

I've had the TP II for about 8 months and love it. It holds my HP 120 sercure and is very comfortable. Haven't dove it with doubles yet but I got it becasue it will grow with me as I move up to doubles. Never had a problem with it.
I know there are several people on here who dive with it and...
The New Jersey State Aquarium was doing this for a while but stopped fairly recently. Now you need to be a friend or related to one of the Aquarium divers and I think they are only allowed to bring two guest a year. There are a couple of people in our dive club who help out there and they really...
I don't think saltwater is too bad, but then again maybe I am use to it. The kids and I were at the shore last week and were diving down picking up starfish and shells without mask on. Not much vis because of the strong surf... but it made boogie boarding a lot of fun.

I think this question illustrates why everyone is frustrated with you. I do understand that you are new to the sport and as such have a lot of questions. However, people on here are giving you advice as well as answering your questions. However, you seem to be not only questioning...
My GF and I are thinking about trying to get away around Labor Day. She is a newbie who just finished here AOW up here in New Jersey and she wants to go somewhere to do some warm water diving. I keep teasing her that that is Foo Foo diving but I want to make her happy. Having never been to the...
Dutch Springs has a crane that was sunk last year. It's pretty interesting with the boom resting on the island. I dove it a couple times last year but haven't been out to it this year.

First, let me say that given your situation I think you did the right thing. Given your potential buddy's number of dives and you feeling uncomfortable blowing off the dive was a good thing. The first rule that I remember is that you should never dive if you are uncomfortable with the dive...
I have the TP II with the Rec Wing and I dive with a single HP 120. I never had a problem with releasing air or the face down problems, but I think it was just because I got use to it quick. Just remember to be slightly vertical and roll to your right to get the air out.
If you go to small...

It does sound like we are on the same path although I am a bit behind you.
Wreckwriter - Thanks for the info.
I'm looking into the mixed gases with TDI. I'll check out the GUE stuff on line and see where it is taught up here.
Thanks to both of you guys.

I also agree that you should get a second opinon to find out what the doctors concern is and make sure you are ok. However, I wouldn't keep going to doctors until I found one to sign the authorization. I had an aunt who would keep changing doctors until she found one who wouldn't tell her to...

What cave diving course would you recommend? I agree that they would be very complimentray however I have no real interest in diving in a cave. I've tried to learn as much as I could about equipment redundancy, line techniques etc and incorporate it into my diving in addition to what I...
I did my wreck training through NAUI. My understanding is that the course director/ Instructor puts together his own course and then gets it approved by NAUI. The guy I took the course from was a pretty experianced NE wreck diver who also has done something like 15 trips to Truk, so our class...
You never know where life and love are going to take you... but if you let it, it is a great trip.
BTW, Ann Landers was an newspaper advice columnist who gave people advice on love, and life. She recently died of cancer.

My only disagreement is that here in the NE we are taught to tie a lift bag off using a Jersey reel before assending. That way you don't end up in Cuba... The Jersey Reel has sissal rope so when you cut the bag away the rope biodegrades.
