    Shuttle or Taxi??

    Apparently.

    Shuttle or Taxi??

Did I say everybody should do exactly what I do? I don't seem to recall saying that. I think I said that how much baggage you're bringing is a factor in deciding if you want to hike off the airport grounds. No. The Cozumel airport isn't that big, to begin with. From the carousel to the street...

    SMB Usage

I use a finger spool with about 150' of line. I tend to deploy fairly deep, like 70-80', but there's generally no real reason why that's necessary; it's just my habit. It's not like I have anything else to do during a deco stop. I think one is sufficient to carry, unless you're guiding a group...

    Shuttle or Taxi??

This is absolutely a factor. I travel with two ladies. We usually go 7-10 days at a time. And they like to dress up. So that means 3 suitcases of clothing, 3 bags of dive gear, and a couple carry on bags. Dragging all that a couple hundred yards to save a few bucks, when we're already spending...

    Weight option for doubles

I've never had any reason to use weights with twin steel tanks. With backmounted double aluminum tanks, I use weight pouches on the waist strap. With sidemount, I mount them in the small of my back.

    1st timer to Cozumel

You won't have any difficulty with communication. English is near-universal on Cozumel. Can't really comment on the hotels you've listed, since we've never stayed at any of them. We generally stay at the Sabor on the cheap and either Secrets or the Cozumel Palace the rest of the time. We dive...

Ambergris Caye Dive Ops for Experienced Divers?

We've only been to Ambergris Caye once. We dove with White Sands, and I was... not impressed... When we checked in and handed them our C Cards, my IANTD Deep/Advanced Nitrox card confused them. They honestly didn't seem to know what it was. Can you imagine the chaos if I'd handed them a trimix...

    Eco-unfriendly Divers

Some people don't care, but some just don't realize what they're doing. I recall an obviously new diver in the Bahamas who was kicking the reef while trying to get pictures. I wrote "You're kicking the crap out of the reef. Can you be more careful?" on my slate and showed it to him. He became...

What happens in a recreational computer if you go past the NDLs?

I worn my Manta as a backup on tech dives. I will admit I've never paid any attention to what it shows as far as deco profile, but it always recovers by the time I surface, and it's never locked me out. Recreational computers in general will come up with something that sort of vaguely resembles...

    Charters not accepting certain agencies?

So I guess they don't accept PADI C-cards either?

    Shuttle or Taxi??

It's best to just start off each day with a general, non-specific apology.

    Shuttle or Taxi??

You can get a taxi TO the airport. You cannot get a taxi FROM the airport. You have to take a shuttle, or drag your gear past the airport entrance. Personally, I've never added it when I booked the trip. I just drop by the booth at the airport, right past the time share salesmen.

Is the Hawaii Dive Worth the trip?

Add another one. If you're on any of the Hawaiian islands, you should do a few dives. But I do not think I would ever again go to Hawaii specifically to dive. Above water, they're amazing. Under water... not so much. Pretty meh. There are a couple exceptions - the Manta dive off the big island...

Going to Cozumel in September will swimsuit and rash guard be enough

Depends on you. When we were on Cozumel last, the water was ~82F. I wore a dive skin. Sue and Kim wore 7ml of neoprene, including hoods.

    Too old?

I once asked Alvaro Gonzalez at Always Diving in Cancun about this issue. He told me that he had a gentleman come to him for lessons at the age of 72. And he didn't even know how to swim.

    Totally dry logbook bag

Get a dry bag. Or an electronic log. Or do your logs after you get off the boat.

    Do I log it lol

So we should log this dive? Does this count as a rescue, since my grandson is plugging the snorkel?

    Belize Travel ?

Not a simple trip. From Colorado, the answer is: Fly from Denver to DFW. Change planes. Fly to Belize. Change to a little 12 passenger puddle jumper. Fly to Ambergris Caye. Get on a water taxi and go to the resort.

What kind of cutting tool do you have and where do you mount it?

I have a knife on my waist belt, a trilobyte on my left shoulder strap, and shears in a pocket on the right side of my dive shorts.
