Question Aqualung Titan worth putting back into use?

If you were looking at taking or sending your reg set to Tomball for service, then give Chris at Dive Zone Scuba a call, (832) 444-5063, he is in Pearland. -Z

Question Aqualung Titan worth putting back into use?

None of the divers in my circle would ever refer to the apparatus that helps sustain their life while below the surface as an "all-around beater", nor would they treat their regulator as such. I hope your word choice is not reflective of your dive and maintenance practices. -Z

    Insurance for diving equipment

In the USA, often homeowners or renters insurance will cover the loss of equipment. Sometimes you can have what is known as a "policy rider" for specific items (usually high cost items like jewelry, art, antiques, firearms, etc.) where the insurance company that provides your homeowners...

Question Does anyone have a TUSA Advance Purge Assist Schematic?

It seems @Tanks A Lot has provided the same file in a separate discussion thread of similar topic. -Z

    Equipment Pressure gauge

It is an interesting thing and I agree with what you said above, but I would add that it is important to have a good idea where the needle is tracking on the guage dial every time one looks at it so that they don't find themself breathing the tank dry with a stuck needle giving the false...

    Equipment Pressure gauge

Realistically, an SPG is inexpensive and easy enough to replace regardless of issue, but a reading of a little high or a little low is not an issue if the reading is consistent....the issue is when there is a change, then the gauge cannot be trusted. -Z

    Equipment Pressure gauge

What kind of dive profile are you doing that requires a 6min stop? Your post reads as if you are deco diving by the seat of your pants....and solo as well. -Z

Guide to Mares regulators from 2000-2020

The official Mares tool to remove the yoke nut is part # 46106201, and is a modified 25mm open end wrench. The modification is that the opening is elongated so that the jaws of the wrench reach around the 1st stage yoke and fully interface with the retaining nut. You can make this yourself by...

Lead dive weights in public swimming pools? What about stainless or tungsten shot weights?

Again, this is a short-sighted mentality. Just because you don't see the pollution doesn't mean it isn't being produced and having an impact. It is foolish to think that because your vehicle doesn't have a tail pipe, that the energy used to propel your vehicle is free of pollution. It is easy...

Lead dive weights in public swimming pools? What about stainless or tungsten shot weights?

EVs are probably one of the worst examples you could have raised to support your argument and endeavor. To purchase an EV you truly have to be willfully ignorant of the environmental impacts of producing the batteries and the subsequent impact of the battery's disposal when it eventually fails...

Lead dive weights in public swimming pools? What about stainless or tungsten shot weights?

Reading through your two discussion threads, it seems Like you wantonly brush aside and ignore the information/data that does not agree with your position and elevate the data that does, all the while shrouding your position in an "Ecco friendly" wrapper. #Virtue Signaling -Z

Guide to Mares regulators from 2000-2020

Thats exactly what I was thinking but I could not/can't tell if the 1st stage depicted is bare brass or has gold colored plating. I was thinking it was bare but there is some silver showing through on the DIN fitting which led me to believe the color might be a coating. I too have been unable to...

Lead dive weights in public swimming pools? What about stainless or tungsten shot weights?

Its hard to tell, between this discussion thread and the one about using US nickle coins, why you are ringing such alarm bells and pushing so hard with your arguments about the use of lead as a standard for dive balast....but then it would seem there may be some bias given your financial...

Its hard to tell, between this discussion thread and the one about using US nickle coins, why you are ringing such alarm bells about the use of lead as a standard for dive balast....but it would it seem that you are biased given your financial interest as the founder of a company that...

    Mares AST System Broken

I don't believe you need to remove the snap ring.....it is an integral part of the AST fitting but it is not shown separately on the parts diagram. You should start by soaking your first stage in a warm water bath, if that doesn't work then soak it in a warm bath of 50% white vinegar 50%...

Rookie diver, Checkout dive next weekend.

For a computer, just about anything on the market will do. I am not a fan of single button computers, but there are folks out there that love them. Most all computers nowadays are Nitrox capable. I would highly recommend making sure that whatever computer you buy has user replaceable batteries...

Skip 5mm and go to 7mm?

My only issue with open cell suits is they are fragile. While they tend to be comfortable, they tear easily. One has to be especially careful when putting them on and taking them off, and they almost always need lubrication to get on. I would totally go with one if I was freediving on a regular...

Skip 5mm and go to 7mm?

Given the water temps you mention you dive in, I would recommend the Aqualung Aquaflex 5mm wetsuit and couple it with the Aqualung Dynaflex 5mm shorty. This shorty is designed to be worn over the the wetsuit. This will give you versatility to add/remove the shorty, or even just wear the shorty...
