So H2Andy, CoolTech AND KBeck all start spontaneously posting again. Kinda strange. This thread was kinda strange too. Rolling mixed gas tanks is a good thing. I'll miss this stuff when I move to northern Italy.
Don't make this too difficult. Dive with Tony on Diversity on the south-of-Boca side of Federal at Marina One and you can audition all sorts of Boca-type divers. If you prove your mettle, maybe one day you can aspire to dive with DiverAmy.
Ah shoot... Stop messing around with CL tanks. Get yourself a pair of HP120's unless you can't afford them. Then CL is your friend for cheapo gear. If you're living in Olathe, KS, you need to have whatever fun you can scrounge in this life.
Good luck with this case. "Failure to render first aid underwater". That's a good one - never heard of that before. Glad your MP is putting some effort into this.
Sounds like Malta and the BSAC can go eff themselves.
The tanks of the future way back when were the AGA Divator system. It was a triple-manifolded rig that was designed for 5000 psi service. No fairing or any of that Cousteauish nonsense - just lots of gas in three skinny cylinders. Even the US Navy didn't mess with this stuff. I never ran across...
I bought a couple of scooters from them in 2008. Both of them failed, and I was able to get a refund on one of them after a bunch of phone calls and emails. They "repaired" the other one. There was a LOT of shipping back-and-forth from FL-to-CA on my dime. Their "repaired" scooter is still...
Ah geez, yet again the experts weigh in. If you want some custom scuba tank skins, just do a Google search for "custom scuba tank skins" and take it from there. They'll look pretty good for a few dives.
Ah geez... he's using what - a foot of pipe? Get the schedule 80. It's gray so you won't have to color it. 2.5" diameter 5' long with shipping might run ya $20.
If you do use schedule 40, go for the furniture grade and get some dye stain from eBay to color it. They use this stuff in the...
Tough on the fill card. That's why I started this thread. Since I had just started yet another fill card there, I called my credit card company and they reversed the charge so I didn't have to shuffle off to the ghetto.
I do have to wonder just how difficult it would have been for the shop to...
...It looks like they went OOB. Their website just said that they were closed and thanks for the support. Their Wastebook page shows that they're open from tonight (Wednesday) through Sunday selling out the shop inventory. If you have an air card, you can spend the balance in the shop.
Good luck...
Sidemount on a bouncing, pitching boat is a sight to behold. And not that attractive a sight.
Now you axed about small doubles. Your options are 1) twinned AL 50's; twinned LP 45/50's; twinned LP66's; or twinned LP85's; maybe AL80's.
I don't know how big you are or what your air efficiency is...
Geez... back pain and diving is not a lot of fun. Take a lot of tip cash with you - don't carry luggage, dive gear --> don't carry nuthin' except lots of five dollar bills. They don't weigh much, but it's amazing how much weight they can take off your back. Let the dive op know you have a bad...
I already got my official NAUI DEMA t-shirts last week, so apparently, I already went. I don't remember a damn thing about the show, but that's kinda par for the course. Vegas would be kinda fun since I've only flown over it on my way to Area 51, but we're not gonna discuss that at all.
DEMA AND...
Too bad Agatha Christie bit the bullet - the mysteries of this thread would have provided novels-worth of entertainment in her hands, unless she over tightened the plot.
Check your logistics and departure times. The dive ops don't like to mix cruise divers with ah, regular divers. I know that this might sound not-so-good, but most vacationing divers staying on Grand Turk do not want to dive with cruise ship divers.
Write it off to pure jealousy that you get to...
Regulators are simple mechanisms to repair. If there are metal particles in the equation, the first time that you noticed this should maybe have been the last time. There is NO reason to see metal shavings, chippings, whatevers - you have the wrong tools or you are doing something wrong.
And...
LP95's are 8" diameter big heavy clunky tanks. I like carrying my wife's HP100's. My own tanks are HP120's which are a little more awkward to carry since I have to bend my arms to lug them around. I have LP85's that are ok, except I never use them. But everything is the same diameter.
I'm wondering if you ever dove on a commercial dive boat that knew about your pump. Things like that are kinda unknown, so the ops I know would err on the side of caution and liability protection, and decline to participate.
Maybe it's perfectly ok. That "discovering new side effects under...
