+1 I also switch setpoint to low to make sure I have total control of buoyancy so if she did the same the solenoid could have stopped firing util the loop came down to .7 (default low setpoint for APD inspiration) and so negating a possible buoyancy addition ...
@MrBigfins
we are talking about stages/bailout bottles. You are probably referring to back gas bottles.
Please note that even if you rent you stages, you NEED (for your safety and those around you) to have MOD written on them, and have in them a mix that matches.
If unwilling, you should not...
Whate he says ^^^
What i write on a piece of tape is the actual values found out analising the bottle content for example 50.7/21.3 (oxigen/helium) the date of analysis and my initials.
On the bottle, no matter if it is 49 or 51 % oxygen it still says in big numbers 21 (meters we are metric here)
Hello dmaziuk,
the whole point of the study was "for the same decompression time". The aim of the study was identify what was the most efficient decompression schedule. Redistributing the time toward deep stop would only increase the DCS risk.
As such if you do not limit the decompression time...
This ^^^^
I'd be very wary if bailing out to anything different than heliox.
This is becuase of Isobaric Counter Diffusion. Especially if diving shallow the amount of oxygen in the breathed mix will be very high and therefore the space available to add nitrogen tiny (remember the 1 to 5 rule...
The translation is rough but conveys the sense.
He was the director of the local scuba association and a course director (a trainer) was diving solo but his friend and new scuba association director stated that he was qualified to dive solo. Neither equipment and configuration involved nor...
The inspiration does not vibrate.
The light do not fail ... they are fiberoptics directly from the controllers.
Two different independent controllers running independent lights brought in the hud by fiberoptics.
To miss the issue of two controllers failing you need to loose sight of the hud and...
Quoting from your linked article:
----<SNIP>-------------
A few seconds of oxygen deprivation won't cause lasting harm, so a child who holds his breath in frustration, a combatant choked unconscious during a Jiu-Jitsu, and a diver who needs a few extra seconds to come up for air are unlikely to...
I believe there is a chance that her on-board dil bottle was air and used for the BCD (no dry suit has been established) and her off board bailout (20/20) used for BOV and as offboard diluent for the loop (this was already proposed as a possibility a few posts above).
Concur,
I do not have much experience in doing something it should not be done. I was barely calculating if you could think that 2 s40 would provide enough gas to bail out and surface based on deco profile.
The way simulation works is showing your analog brain scenarios to be recognized without intelligent thought.
Let me explain in a very low level (apologies to those who are expert in the field ...)
Our brain works in two main ways to make decisions:
-recognising a scenario and using a precanned...
I dive Inspiration with vision and 2020 handset.
It is a single axial scrubber configuration 2.5 Kg
3 Cells with 2 controller monitoring ppO2 that have the capability to back each other up in case of setpoint lowering .2 bar below setpoint.
Dual battery.
Head up display run directly from the...
Agree.
I am a FAA ASEL CPL IFR Rated and Advanced Ground instructor. I am well aware. But if the event is classified as an accident according to FAR 830.2 it requires immediate notification to NTSB (according to FAR 830.5) and there will be a formal enquiry. The results will be public. So, I can...
Quite an interesting avenue of thinking.
The way I was trained in flying (twice as a civilian in Italy and US under FAR) and once under military rules flying came first.
We did the initial rudder and stick training directly one SEP (Single Engin Pistons). Then simulators came when mission and...
I respectfully disagree with you.
1. This is none like an aviation accident. The field is heavily regulated, the planning is recorded and a formal risk assessment is done and left on record. The supervisor will assess that risk and endorse planning and execution. Once the accident happens all...
You are an arsonist!
The issue is not the deep stop, is the aidea that stopping deep would shorten the shallow deco time .... this is really arson :)
Back on topic .... While on OC the only work you do is keep the 2nd stage walve open by creating a slight depression in the regulator...
