Tursiops you ask: Immediately after postin a file containing the deltaM values for all compartments for several deco models I say that you just did it And you scold me to be more rhetorical than you did? Kettle and pot come to mind but I am not a native speaker and some subleties of your...

Is oxygen consumption depends on the depth and can we count it?

In order to understand this think to the blood as a conveyor belt. It picks up oxygen at the lungs and brings it all around the body. If oxygen is needed it is used by the cells, if not it stays on the conveyor belt. When the coveyor belt goes back thru the lungs, if there is space available on...

cylinder valve shears off, tank travels 1/4 mile

Late to the thread but most of the times the flow at the orifice is sonic, (pressure in the tank at least twice than ambient) so the flow is constant is the density changing. That happens linearly with pressure ... also T=m (v1- v2) T=trust m=massic flow wich is rho*s*v1 rho is density s...

    Fiona Sharp death in Bonaire

Exactly, and that is the reason why I dump from the nose. It clears my mask if needed, it is dumping used gas it does not require to use hands and it is done instinctively. Concerning dump valve, mileage varies. My unit, for example, has two: one for each counterlung so I can choose (provided I...

    Reverse dive profile advice

Actually joint cavitation can happen even if not diving. But if you have been diving then rather than filling with synovial fluid at the end of the mechanical cause creating the cavity it fill with gas coming out of the synovial fluid itself and not going back in. Cheers

    Reverse dive profile advice

Physical activity can create depression due to cavitation in moving joints, these might attract gas that would otherwise be carried out (albeit more slowly due to the low perfusion of the cartilage in the joints) by the blood stream. Once in gaseous state it becomes difficult to remove the...

    First rebreather choice

Understood. I dove a vision with the old LCD display and upgraded my unit to the 2020. And also once sone with MOD1 and put 50 hours on the unit I moved to a PLDT frame. What I am saying is that you have 2 independent controller since the classic which had them in the pendants, when moved to...

    First rebreather choice

I am puzzled. All the APD rebreathers I know have double controllers. The classic had double pendant also (controller was in there) while the subsequent models (vision) had them in the head, with a single display input unit. Which unit are you talking about?

Deco gas choice for this dive?

^^ What he says. You are using imperial so I did have to convert: 150' is 45 mt so 5.5 bar so the max FO2 to have 1.4 on the bottom is 25%. So filling EAN28 and then topping off with air will give you - even starting with 100 bar (1500 PSI) - a good Nitrox (EAN25) for the second dive. Less...
