    Looking for 2 gauge console

Yeah, but not exactly what you are asking for... I and many others use an SPG alone, and a compass worn on the other wrist. Suunto makes some nice wrist-mount compasses, and chrome-plated SPGs are available from a variety of sources.

    Fs: 2 45cf aluminum stage/deco bottles

I hear you, Jim. Western Union is a deal-killer for me. In this instance, I made an exception when the seller provided me all of his info (address, phone number, DL#,) a reasonable rationale for wanting to use WU, and as an instructor and long-time member, clearly had a position/reputation...

    Fs: 2 45cf aluminum stage/deco bottles

4 months and a lot of communication later, I have no tanks, no return of funds, and a cessation of communication from the seller. I have tried PM, email, and phone calls, none of which have led to any more resolution than apologies for mix ups and promises to refund money. Everyone gets...

How would you teach a 10yr old to use dive tables?

Other issues with a person of this age learning to dive aside, I agree, it's more a matter of teaching a process and logic than it is of teaching mathematics. I would alot more time to it than I would for an adult, go through more examples that are immediately followed with the student...

What comes with a bc vest and what do would i need to dive?

This is all very, very good advice. The backplate and wing is a style of BC, and discussion of the relative merits of this system versus a "jacket" style BC runs to nearly religious arguement proportions in the threads here on Scubaboard. However, the modular nature of the system and the...

What comes with a bc vest and what do would i need to dive?

To make this easier, here's a picture of a BC from the Scubaboard Gallery. The black thing on the end of the corrugated hose below left of the center of the photo is the power inflator, and that is a standard piece of a BC (comes attached/with it.)

What comes with a bc vest and what do would i need to dive?

I agree with the point on the 1.5mm. I dive warm and cold water and I haven't found a situation where I was uncomfortably warm in my 5mm. I'd save the $ and just go with one suit that could take me down into the low 70s/high 60s. Also, I think the piece you're seeing on BCs is the inflator, as...

What comes with a bc vest and what do would i need to dive?

OT but... Is this how people use Air-2s? Obviously from my post above I don't like them, but I'd have thought you would donate reg in your mouth and use your own Air-2, given the hose lengths and desire to control your own inflator...

What comes with a bc vest and what do would i need to dive?

Fair enough, and to each his own. After letting them know in advance that we will be doing this, I always make it a point to do a simulated OOA ascent and safety stop with Air-2 or analogous integrated 2nd-wearing students or other dive buddies I end up with to show them what an abomination...

What comes with a bc vest and what do would i need to dive?

Are you advocating an Air-2, or just being complete and exhaustive?

What comes with a bc vest and what do would i need to dive?

LOL. I'll bet more than a few of us wish we had spent the time on the second decision that we spent/spend on the first one! :D

What comes with a bc vest and what do would i need to dive?

Oh, and one other important thing to get, in my opinion, is DAN diving accident insurance: DAN Divers Alert Network

What comes with a bc vest and what do would i need to dive?

If you wanted a complete set of gear, You'd want: - mask - snorkel - fins - boots - wetsuit - BC, either traditional or backplate and wing, which might be easier to fit (do a search, huge number of discussions on this topic - a regulator, which would include first stage, 2 second stages...

Probably something you've thought of, but why not just hydro now and have them in sync?

    little help...tank fails and destroyed

This is the big issue, is it not? Eddy current testing shouldn't be done on these tanks, false positives are too common and there is no indication the problem the technique is designed to detect even exists for this alloy. It will inevitably lead to condemnation of tanks that have no flaw...

    How Permanent is Permanent?

I bought some used shot-blast finish AL 80s recently. They have some markings on them that I would like to remove. Based on the way they look, I am assuming they are "permanent" marker. Does anyone have a successful approach for removing this sort of mark? Thanks
