Shearwater is replacing it. I changed my vote from "Yes, repair" to "Yes, multiple repair and/or replacement" since I think that fits me best (one repaired and one replaced).
I might be contributing to this thread again already... Finished setting up the new one and threw it on the charger for the first time and it's displaying "LOW BAT TEMP" and won't charge (charger light flashes green). Anybody seen this one before? This particular error is not in the manual..
Good point. I share your love for solo travel as well. There's something about the freedom to set your own agenda and dealing with the logistics and comms is drastically simplified.
That has been exactly my experience. I have met some cool people on land based dive boats, but most of them are traveling together and there isn't a ton of quiet space/time to get to know each other on a standard 2 tank dive charter on a tiny boat bouncing around for half a day. Most of the...
This sounds like a similar position to the one I was in so I can tell you what worked for me. I started doing LOBs solo. Given the LOB dynamic of being thrown on a boat for a week or two with a bunch of other people that like diving enough to be on a LOB and I can pretty much guarantee that...
lol...I almost got that one since I already had a blue.. maybe it will look cool in person. Plus it's a limited edition and comes with a cool sleeve on the box!

Just grabbed a second one as well. My first one has been back once for battery replacement and has been fine since then. I haven't bought anything from Silent Explorers recently, but bought a bunch of stuff a few years ago and Ron was always great to deal with. Thanks for posting the link/sale.
Nope...I was looking for the same info, but haven't seen an adventure log or anything yet. I got an email from them claiming the voyage happened 2/4 so would be curious if anybody runs across a trip report or something somewhere. I am booked on her in May.
Agreed...def bring it. You never know when you might need it. I was there a couple years ago diving at Boat Cove on West Caicos and ran into this guy tangled up in a bunch of fishing gear and caught on the wall at about 105'. Was able to cut him loose and bring up a bunch of old fishing junk...
Cartels got tired of the dive boat traffic interrupting trafficking routes and calling the pesky coast guard so they made a public display of decapitating that shark. Then they engaged their media/lobbying arm to make it look like it was the cage diving operation(s) that caused it. Problem solved.
This. We did Pelican Rock as our free warm up dive before boarding the Belle Amie and my log reflects the same stuff posted upthread. Cool sand waterfall thing but tons of rando boats everywhere and a massive CF on the surface. Not worth doing, IMO. I would have skipped it but brought a...
