That echoes my experience. On my currently rapidly discharging Teric it was fine in storage when I bought it until I went on a LOB. Then it developed the fast discharge in storage problem. Sent it in to be repaired and it was fine until I went on another LOB. Now it's rapidly discharging...
Charged my "rapidly discharging" Teric to 92% on 8/7 and today it is at 66% (stored off and with AI and compass off). My other Teric was at 84% on 8/7 and is at 82% today (stored in an identical state). So one discharging at roughly 2% in two weeks and the other 26%. I'll try to do the 90%...
It's not a huge deal, but @tdp92 mentioned costs and I think the last time I shipped a Teric back for repair it was $25 USD or so to insure it. Not the end of the world, but if cost is an issue then multiple returns do add to the total cost of ownership of the computer. Not sure how close the...
Here are my two over the last few weeks (I check bats every 2 weeks and log them).
Teric 1 Teric 2
64% on 7/10 92% on 7/10
44% on 7/24 88% on 7/24
30% on 8/7 84% on 8/7
I'll try to remember to help you test this theory after I get back from my next trip. Right now I have one discharging normally in storage and the other is exhibiting the rapid discharge problem after my trip in May. I was going to send the problem one in prior to my upcoming trip, but when I...
IMO, you are on to something about the battery. I think there is something else going on, but haven't bothered putting any mental energy into trying to figure it out. In case there is a bored engineer reading the thread here is the part I find interesting about my Terics. They seem to act...
^^^ This. Also people changed names, used their wife's email account for a while (remember Kirvine?) and would switch the subject line mid-convo (e.g. "BONDAGE WINGS WAS: Marguerite's Monkey was: Rebreather Safety Question").
"One time I did a dive with Gavin, and at 120 feet after a few stops he asked me for the schedule. I asked him to show me his. He did not have one. I told him I did not have one. He then frisked me and looked through everything in my pockets and my books. He wrote me back and asked if I had a...
Agreed.. I am just not sure why SM divers feel the need to do recreational dives with 2 tanks. None of the BM divers on these recreational liveaboards do. Maybe someone that dives SM can explain?
Agreed..just carrying out the scenario to the maximum (e.g. if everybody decides sidemount is the way recreational diving ought to be done and becomes the norm). At that point boats would either have to change their SOP or sidemount folks would just have to live with only using one tank like...
