    Drysuit dump valve leak underwater

It is not easy to reverse, the boots, the wrist and you have to install the inflation valve reverse as well.

Question Yet another BP/W purchasing question

Most of my drysuit diving was with a backpack and no wing, and I did have a zipper fail once. I felt it leaking a little but thought it was your typical neck seal leak. When the zipper let go, the suit flooded. I rolled onto my back (zipper down) and inflated. That made a big bubble in the...

How long is acceptable for a wing to hold air?

I got a new wing from ZEN xDeep. I orally inflated it but it is slowly losing air. I would say a small portion every day. Not a lot by any means but enough that I am concerned. The wing is brand new so I thought maybe the corrugated hose or inflator might have a slow leak so I replaced it with...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

So a suit that cost about $1k in 2020 made it 500-600 dives (150x4). That's well under $5 per dive for the suit and very much a win. Could you honestly say that a $3-4k DUI, Santi, Bare, Otter, or whatnot would make it 1500-2000 dives before needing to chase small holes and get the same return...

One-hand or two-hand valve drills (back mount doubles)

@lukas_manthony Below is a link to what I mean by an air gun. Instructors connect an LP hose to their first stage and then the air nozzle fitting to that. It allows them to simulate a gas leak at either post or even your short hose reg...

    Leaky p-valve or…?

Just to be clear, you are diving with the p-valve disconnected from you and it leaks water, right? If that's the case, the valve inside the p-valve probably needs to be replaced. The Dive Rite unit cannot be closed by turning the cap like on some other p-valves. If you really aren't going to...

Good Dry Glove options other than Waterproof Ultima?

I have never felt any issues with dexterity with my Showa 720 gloves, not even when using thick gloves underneath, they are durable as hell. If you'd rather use thinner gloves for extra dexterity that sounds like a gear solution to a skills problem. Practice makes perfect.

Is it the BCD or some screwy buoyancy issue?

Service the inflator, a small and/or intermittent leak by the Schrader valve will cause this also.

    Wing failure

I’ve seen punctured wings. Usually not a big deal. I’ve seen corrugated hoses tear off. That’s a deal. Sheared off dump valve passing a cave restriction. Meh deal. Leaking inflators. Leaking buttons. Leaking hose to inflator. Mostly meh.

    BP/W maintenance

Replacement inflators are cheap. Keep a spare in your repair kit. Flush out your wing and inflator hose with fresh water at the end of every dive trip. I wouldn't bother replacing the bladder unless it actually starts to leak, though.

    BP/W maintenance

Here's the steps I take when I do a BCD annual service (Note: I always service the inflator as part of an annual -- they generally are neglected and a stuck inflator can really ruin your day): 1. Inspect BC harness/buckles/bladder cover/weight dump system etc. for excess wear and tear. 2...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

Nipple size is the same, it's shape that is different. One requires you to pull sleeve on inflator to connect, the other you just push. I have Apeks valves with "normal" nipple. Not sure, but I think you can use "pull" inflator on normal nipple, but not the opposite. Had low profile Apeks on my...

How long is acceptable for a wing to hold air?

I'm not confused at all. My background leaves me adequately versed on pressure temperature relations. What manufacturer do you deal with that will replace a BC under warranty because it isn't firm overnight? I don't mean they recommend the customer replace it, but they will replace it out of...

    Looking for Tigullio inflator schematics.

I can get an inflator from XS Scuba as it is a 3/4" corrugated hose. Just trying to see if I can figure out the leak to save time.

Question How to behave after uncontrolled ascent

What I like about posts like this is it reminds EVERYONE of the procedure to follow if your inflator's leaking: disconnect the hose. MOST people haven't done that in possibly years, so the cause==effect==resolution link isn't strong. Will run through a complete set of disconnect/shutdown...

    Hollis SMS 100 Dual Bladder

You might want to consider not attaching a hose to the back-up bladder and just planning to inflate it orally on the off chance that you'll actually need it. If you have a hose attached to each one and one of them starts to leak air into its bladder, you might have a hard time figuring out which...
