Deep 6 Gear Excursion DC: what would you change?

Shhhhh!!!!! The Excursion already has the hardware for a garage door opener integrated, just not turned on yet. We don't want customers complaining that the firmware doesn't support this yet. Let's not get Deep 6 inundated with angry phone calls.

    Fin recomendation wanted

I've had the Mares and the Deep 6. The Deep 6 is a far superior fin in terms of stiffness and the ability to perform subtle movements. I don't have experience with the RK3's, but the regular version is supposed to be soft compared to the Eddy and the HD version is supposed to be much heavier.

    OW failure, advice?

I know I am about to use vague terms but I think people will get the idea. I think that passing the swim test involves not being exhausted and struggling over a long period of time to swim 200 yd continuously. If a student swims continuously slowly and comfortably, I'm good with that. I don't...

    OW failure, advice?

I wouldn't say not interested, but not necessarily prepared. Such as people who cannot really swim. Those are the main failures I've had while teaching (another one was someone with a fear of dark water - Puget Sound was not appropriate). While these individuals were later certified by other...

Hollis Prism 2 electronics in head. Photos!

I find the wiring harness quite fragile. I'll probably have Marty Watson do some upgrades in that regard as that frustrates me as I've been skunked two straight weekends.

Recreational Pony Bottles, completely unnecessary? Why or why not?

I think that's how over 90% of the divers like to dive. Jump in, look around, start to ascend as their gas gets low. I'd prefer that they adhere to min gas requirements, but I'd be beyond crazy to think there was a way to get all those divers to change their habits. Properly maintained...

Another great Shearwater customer service story

I was quite happy to have picked up a NERD2 for my mod 1 class with my Prism 2. I was not happy however when during tear/down transport that I misplaced the NERD2 hose clamp. I was more than happy, ecstatic actually, when the good folks at Shearwater sent me a clamp kit that I received almost...

Recreational Pony Bottles, completely unnecessary? Why or why not?

My Own Out of GAS Experience A great philosopher said: "Ah contraire monfraire" - Bartholomew Simpson. Exceedingly rare but an instance of the absolute worst thing that can happen should be considered. Well, everything after Megalodons.

Agreed. Fact based criticism isn't agency bashing. I'm dealing just fine. Never have had any comments of such moderated so I'm good.

Deep 6 Gear Excursion DC: what would you change?

AI requires hardware changes. Just think if you own an Excursion today that supports trimix/GFs/multiple gasses tomorrow (and no, I don't mean literally tomorrow).

Without providing links to things I've said, you are providing an opinion, not facts. Feel free to illustrate how I state opinions not based on facts in PM. Please provide links so I can read my previous comments in the complete context.

The answer to my question is no. The when is the main question.

That's the one thing that's frustrating about ScubaBoard. Any fact based criticism elicits accusations of agency bashing by self-appointed agency defenders.
