How about the dive equipment disinfection processes cited here to address the SCTLD spread? Are these procedures actually in effect/mandatory and required? It could make multiple dives in one day or multi tank boat trips pretty difficult to actually do?

As someone who has stated they never have or will dive in warm water, why would you think that bringing big roller bags on boats is a warm water diver thing?
I’m a warm water diver and I’ve never seen anyone bring a big roller bag on a boat. Not a lot of gear needed for warm water diving vs...
Good luck - but no way I’d consider Cayman as a destination while the application and periodic testing after arrival are still in effect! To me, it’s just not worth the hassle and risk given what other destinations require at this point!
Though it was my most frequently visited and dived tropical destination, I’m in no rush to get back to Cayman given the uncertainty and lack of clarity around their re-opening plans.
Just got back from 10 days in Aruba (after a 10 day trip there in July) - perfect weather, great...
I'm not convinced they'll actually open this year at all, given the latest trends there and how crazily conservative they've been. I've moved on and booked to other places for 2022. GCM is off my list for the foreseeable future - maybe 2023?
Active cases now 320, majority showing symptomatic signs
I charged my Teric to 100% on Sept 13 - just checked it today and it’s at 74%. That seems much higher drain than what I had seen before I used it on my last dive trip in early July.
I’ll have to keep any eye on it to see if it gets worse. This unit was previously rebuilt at DiveTronix for...
Very bad! Many of us have had Teric batteries replaced (and other related electronics) - some more than once. Your Teric appears to have a severe case of this battery drain issue.
Call Shearwater and they’ll have you send it to the US service center (Dive-Tronix) and they’ll get this fixed...
As many expected…
It seems like it may be time to just write off Cayman as a dive destination as I have no confidence in any opening date at this point.
I may just go ahead and proactively cancel my April 2022 trip and book something somewhere else.
Yup - but it’s the first time I saw anything about anybody trying to preserve the diving there.
As it’s a major training site for the area, I’m sure it’s closure could impact new PADI dive certs as I’m not aware of any other place in the area that is convenient.
Time will tell.
