Apparently there are two yellowheads on the west side. Didn't see the one, but the other has a banded jawfish with eggs about 3ft away. And a smaller - 2" chalk bass in the same area.

Most excellent dive today. Got up there really early, which was a good thing. Parking lot pretty full by 10.
7 seahorses, pike blennies, yellowhead jawfish, banded jawfish, spotted eagle ray, and all the regulars. Photos will eventually be downloaded to the computer, processed, and posted. Currently 6 dives behind. LOL

It was great to meet you yesterday Peter @Pipehorse. Thanks for coming over to say hello.
Sorry we missed you today @Scuba_Jenny, perhaps we will catch you another time.

A couple of my favorites that Nathalie captured yesterday.
a) Hard time identifying this one, think it might be a Resh Pikeblenny. Swimming freely/and quick! Size of a pipefish.
b) A friendly yellow head jaw fish that came all the way out to check us out.

Pretty sure its a female Bluethroat Pikeblenny. I have noticed that the females of the species are out and about, as opposed to the males that stay by their holes.

Nice afternoon dive today on the north west side. Saw what seem to be a pair of small grass squids (2”) among the usual suspects. A few of our favorite pics for fun.

Well, you are kinda long and lanky like one..

I know they have been seen there. I've seen them, didn't know they were pipehorses then, now I regret not grabbing the camera after the dive to shoot them in the sargassum floating on the surface....

Nice dive at the BHB,
Weekdays with cold water temp have the parking lot empty enough we can choose to park on east or west side. Cool!

Had fun watching this pike blenny trying to bite of more than it can chew ... I guess he is quite territorial.

A dozen reef squid were curiously following us around ... and of course had to say hello to some of the regulars.

Went to the bridge today for diving. Arrived at 0905 for a 0950 high tide. The park was not crowded. Entered the water at 0925. Visibility was 35ft and sea temp @ 75F. Observed a Queen Triggerfish, which according to the reef database is observed .67% of time or approximately 1 out every 150 surveys submitted for BHB. Respectively Queen Triggerfish, Saddled Blenny and a probably a Lined/Northern Seahorse (looks like the same one from one of Jenny's pics).
