I'm going to buy some drysuit inflation tank, but haven't decided the size yet.
I dive in cold water with thick undergarment and sidemount, I'm 193cm (~6'4").
I do recreational dives and tank size&pressure that let me do 2-3 dives would be enough, also something that is easily attached to my XDeep Tech 2.0.

Some of the tanks that I can easily get are:
Steel 2L 230bar, ø100mm, length 356mm (3,97"/14")
Steel 1,8L 200bar, ø84mm, length 458mm (3,3"/18")
Steel 1,5L 200bar, ø84mm, length 400mm (3,3"/15,7)
AL 1.5L 232bar, ø111mm, length 289mm (4,3"/11,4")
Steel 1L 200bar or 300bar, ø83mm, length 276 mm (3,3"/10,8")
Recommendations?
Could you give me some examples of what is the volume of drysuit gas used on different dive profiles?

It varies person to person.

If you’re diving recreationally, why bother with the extra fill and gear/setup/weight associated with a suit bottle?

I use a Ali 1L for any single dive to 100M with a square profile. I can squeeze 2 dives out of it in the 50M range, but any down up down up profile variation would drain it empty. If you’re using above minimum suit gas, you’ll run it empty, especially at your size.

Of that list, steel 2L or Ali 1.5L. I wouldn’t use a suit bottle on recreational dives. You’ll find using a suit bottle for 3 dives a day isn’t common because nobody really does three trimix dives a day, so useful input will be limited.

In the US, common bottles are AL6 (1L), then AL13 or AL14 (~2L), because they’re not overly negative.

I use steel 2L 230bar tanks with a 100mm diameter and fill them with Argon pumped through a small compressor to 260-275Bar. Easily get 3 dives out of them, unless the dive is very long with lots of ups and downs - then each dive gets a fresh tank.

Are you using helium in your dives? Just wondering why you want a separate bottle for your drysuit?

Assuming you are using helium and actually need a suit gas bottle... I labelled these by how many squarish profile recreational (<40m) dives I would realistically get out of them - in Finland.

Adding a suit gas bottle to any sidemount system is a huge pain in the butt. If you dont actually need it, skip it.
