Damn...just heard the news. I had the pleasure of meeting him once at The Scuba Show in Long Beach and he was such a humble gentleman. He couldn't believe that I considered him "famous" and an icon...he said he was just a normal guy. RIP Dr. Bill.
 
I haven't logged in in 10 years, I had to stop diving. Dr Bill was a staple of the island. So down to Earth and likable. Anyone who loves the ocean was his family and he treated people as such. So many times I felt like my visit to Casino Point wasn't complete if I didn't bump into him. I'll miss him dearly.
 
I am very sorry to hear of this.

I didn’t always know what he was talking about, but he made it fun and informative.

He will be remembered and missed.
