We spent the day diving Farnsworth Bank on the backside of Catalina. Blue water, no current, and thousands of baitfish made for a perfect day on the pinnacles. My plan was to shoot macro on the first dive and switch to wide angle for the next dives. After making my giant stride from the Giant Stride I felt water entering my drysuit at the left elbow. It soon began traveling down my left leg, so I decided at that point that I was only making one dive today.

I was looking for snails, nudibranchs, and zooanthids. I didn't find any, so I resorted to shooting subjects that were a bit too large for my macro setup. I'll patch my suit and try again at a later date. Thanks to Captain Jim Simmerman for taking us there and to Phil Colla for chartering the Giant Stride and Merry Passage, Kevin Lee, Bill and Nannette Van Antwerp, and Dana Rodda for the comradery. Also, thanks to a special guest Anastasia Laity for swimming from the Asante to visit.

Several years ago this FLA diver was on a Truth Trip and had the most incredible dive at Farnsworth Banks. 130ft of top to bottom viz and almost no current. The colors are just like your great pictures and really incredible. That dive site is a treasure when you get the right conditions. Sorry about the flood. Perfect Pictures @MaxBottomtime !!

I've been invited several times to get on this boat to go lobster hunting if I'm ever back in the LA area. That boat looks like one sweet setup and it's only a 6pack !!!!
