So for some real sticker shock for you folks -

3000 psi fill is $88.32 per tank for just the He for 20/20. $353.28 just for the He for Saturday. :rofl3:

Dang... I cringed at the ~$30 for mine

Hmmm....PSAI level 3 will get you down to the same depth range and prob costs less than those fills.. :)

TDI Advanced Nitrox/Helitrox. Up to 35% He down to 150ft. I have a lot of diving in that range to do. Deco Procedures falls under Helitrox. You don’t get the DP card (some instructors seem to give it), but do the DP bookwork.
Seems unfair to do the DP bookwork and not the dives. Is there no deco diving in helitrox?

Doesn’t matter when I get narked bad at 130ft. To be safer AND remember my lovely Great Lakes wrecks? Priceless.

Same number of dives with AN/Helitrox as with AN/DP. The only difference is a bit more bookwork for Helitrox and being able to use He.

ETA: If you don’t do Helitrox with AN, it’s a standalone after you’ve already done AN/DP.

Nothing like forgetting your course dives narced out for your mind in 38F water :D

There's deco training in helitrox. I'm doing the class currently too.
Same training that's in the normal an/dp. Helitrox is a slight step above deco but below trimix, but not common on OC because of the HE costs.

They cover all that in their narcosis management curriculum.

We aren't on a remote island without options. We have helium readily available. The 90s ended over 20 years ago. I will pass on the narcosis management curriculum.
