I need to clean some corrosion off of some 7/8 valves... I have an ultrasonic cleaner. What's the recommended cleaning solution that I could get locally?
I saw 50/50 vinegar/water mentioned in a thread.

Vinegar works fine for corrosion.

Pretty much anything is "locally available" in this day and age. I use Alconox and BlueGold. Latter for O2 cleaning, former for non ultrasonic plastics.

some prefer citric acid instead of vinegar. simple green crystal as an alternative to blue gold.

I've used citric acid for years, since it is highly effective; dissolves quickly; and is readily available, in the canning aisles of most large supermarkets, where it is typically used as a preservative, especially for tomatoes . . .

I use diluted dish washing liquid for this, and also for mopping the floor.
Vinegar is a bit agressive; I only use it against verdigris, if present, and in a separate bath.
