American Bristol/Bauer Capitano K

Hi All, looking at a compressor and I was wondering what it would be worth. I’m not sure what to offer. The seller said it’s been sitting for 10-15 years in a garage. Here’s a pic of the nameplate. Are parts still available for it?

Its not a english bristol compressor block

You have a Bauer capitano K series
Yes all parts from your local bauer agent
You can find a full parts list look up Bauer kompressoren
The filter system is also bauer P21 in eu. Also known as PO in usa

If its been sitting for 15 years
then first thing i advise is a full strip down & rebuild.

So as for what is it worth
I would take a punt about £200 english pounds

That is about its value i think,
But then you have to do a full strip
With luck a new set of piston rings & all valves
Also a new final stage piston asy
May be best if you find out cost of the parts from bauer agent.
Another option is try Lawrence factors usa they make copy bauer parts.

Would a kit such as this one be adequate for a full rebuild? They also offer different kits. Based on hours.

No i dont think that is right kit for you.
In short its not got the first & second stage rings

I have a Bauer Capitano 1976 still running perfect and I’ve never had to put a part in it. For 200 euro I’ll take 3 of them please. There 10 times that price in Europe
