Put the regular fob in the car, lock the car with a "dumb key" and take it with you.

I use a small dry box like this one. Fits in my BCD pocket.

The "4 Letter Word combination" could come in really handy if it were to turn out insufficiently secure ... :wink:

It might be intended to use the 4 letters to make a word :wink:

but wiser to use the letters from a phrase or a poem

Thankfully, I still have an older Toyota Tacoma, and its very conventional key, goes down the front of my wetsuit; or in a pocket.

When I had to borrow my girlfriend's more modern car; or use a rental, on occasion, I carried the key fob in an empty GoPro dive housing . . .
