I linked to a thing in the proper pub thread about how there is a link between poor numeracy and believing fake news and propaganda. The whole businesses of big numbers times smallish numbers still having pretty big and significant answers seems lost on a lot of people.

This is not really a surprise, got to any casino town and you can’t move for people unable to do the maths.

@tridacna LOL. I'm beginning to think that not only is this guy a troll, he most likely can't even dive so is taking out his depression by trying to insult and aggravate everyone else. He clearly needs help from a professional.
You are not alone!
I am thinking on the same line!!!!! No connection to Indonesia as well!!!!

For the record, I'd travel to Indonesia tomorrow if I could, and so would millions of others at the end of the day. My friends and loved one's are still suffering over there. No one's scared of covid, only worried how they're gonna feed their families
You were sure that millions would come last month as well. People will not come in millions within the next couple of years. It would be great for me and all others if tourism would come back again soon. But reality is different. No wide scale vaccines yet which give sufficient protections. Until then no country want their citizens to travel for fun to Indonesia. And the fact that there will be no insurance will disencourage most potential visitors.

He wasn't sure on anything he had posted!
Several issues to consider: flight, insurance and what would happen when I return home?
I do not want to be in quarantine for 2 wks anywhere!

Bali Will Reopen Borders With Singapore In New Business Travel Corridor - The Bali Sun

The governments of Indonesia and Singapore have announced a reciprocal green lane between the two countries will officially launch on October 26th, 2020.

The Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister announced the reciprocal green lane during a press conference on Monday Oct 12th 2020. He also stated that the application process will launch on October 26th, 2020, for travel between the two countries.

I know you emphasized the word "fun", but you & I both know that not all the Singaporean visitors that'll be travelling to Bali are business people

So Singaporeans are the first cab off the rank, congratulations to them

The average age of death from coronavirus is 82.4 years writes DAVID ROSE | Daily Mail Online

That figure – computed from Office of National Statistics data by experts at Oxford University

The study by Oxford’s Centre for Evidence Based Medicine also suggests that fewer than six people per thousand who get coronavirus now are likely to die from it.

So only illiterates would believe information directly from experts at Oxford University, the same University where a covid vaccine is being developed?
